Flashing powerlight

i am aware that the flashing power light when the xbox one is off means it is downloading, however while it is on every 5 minutes it starts flashing and making a knocking sound. I have spent hours googling but have had no luck, anyone heard of this before
and know what it is?

Weird Xbox Problem

Unfortanately if the powerlight is flashing this means that your cd drive is not detected by the xbox. This would explain why you were having issues getting the drive open. The console willneed a repair but in my opinion its not worth getting due to the
cost of the repair. I recremend getting the xbox 360 slim as iut runs waay better then the xbox 360 originals and on the slim there is a less likey chance that you will get the red dot of death.

Although this doesnt help you i wish you luck in what you decide to do.

3 ring death (possible faulty powersupply?)

when I shutted off the xbox and then unplug the power the light on brick did go red and i do remember 2 other instances where the powerlight on powerbrick has been red

 

Hey Riot GirI 187! Is the console set to Instant-On mode or Energy-Saver mode? Do you have an external hard drive attached to the console. Additionally, is the console plugged directly in to an outlet or are you using a power strip/surge protector/etc.?

My console is on energy saver mode, and it is plugged into an outlet not power strip or anything like that.

 

Hey Riot Girl 187! Are there any accessories attached to the console (headset, external hdd, etc.)? Do you notice any change in performance when the flashing occurs? Post back and let us know!

 

I have a controller charging dock attached and theres no difference in performance with my headset, nor does it stop when i remove it. It doesn’t effect anything its just annoying and makes a ticking noise when it starts to flash.

 

Hey Riot Girl 187! You may want to try a factory reset of the console to see if it helps stop the flashing. If the flashing and more specifically the ticking sound continues after trying that, your console will most likely need to be serviced. You can do
