FIXED: Friend can't join game because MC says they are not friends.

"Cannot join game because you are not friends with anybody in the game."

or other errors telling you that you that you cant join your friends game because hes not your friend..

Here is the FIX:

--both you and your friend go to xbox.com and unfriend each other.

--on the website, send each other a Xbox360 friend request, then send an xbox one request.

--Friend or Favorite, doesnt matter.

--Hard reset both your xbox ones.

--you will now be able to join your friends server.

No idea what is wrong, but this is the fix. enjoy.

Minecraft Connection Problems

When I try to join ANY of my friends online minecraft game it says: "You cannot join the game as you are not friends with anyone in the game"

My NAT is OPEN. Their server is open to friends, and friends of friends. I can play Battlefront, GTA V online, but I can't connect to any of my friends MC games. I find this pretty ridiculous. I feel like it should be very easy to be able to connect and
play with my friends, ESPECIALLY since its a next gen console. I mean, the only reason I platy games is because I can play them with friends online. This is rendering my MC game useless and I really hope that Microsoft looks into this as there are TONS of
people experiencing this.

Please help me out. I've reset the router, reset network connections, I mean ive tried A LOT.

 

Cant Join Friends Game!

Since small update on the 29th of August I can't join my friends game because it says Im not friends with anyone in the game please help asap!

 

Are you for real!! I am dealing with children who are 7 years old spread over miles and they are having this problem. Is this really the only fix for this crap.... If they are friends on xbox one, they are in a party chatting together and they can join
each other in every other game bar MC I should not be hard resetting consoles and going online messing around with invites. To make it worse they have been playing on each others worlds since Christmas without a problem. This is the 2nd major mess around
with xbox one from Christmas the first being SWBF and age restrictions on sons account(that was a fun 3 hours first thing in the morning), I had zero problems with PS4 over 12 months and if I could convince the other parent to switch I would go back to it
tomorrow.

 

thats why they call it a glitch. its not supposed to happen this way. the fix is not hard at all, not exactly sure where the hostility is coming from. Literally a 3 minute fix.

 

I arrived here with the same problem. After an hour troubleshooting, I'm having to send my kid to bed without being able to play. I hope they have a grace period for live account refunds, otherwise I'm doing a charge back on it.

 

Follow Choras's Steps. They will fix the "cant join friend" glitch.

 

Microsoft should step up and fix this. It is beyond stupid to have to apply work-arounds for something so basic.

You don't have to tolerate broken software, but for some reason that seems to be the default practice.

 

this is still a problem and those steps are not the answer. if those steps resulted in extra privileges it would be called a federal crime as a hack. but if it results in less work for microsoft it is simply a feature.
