He is downloading his games that he used to play on an S to the X. There is games that will download the 4k content on the X where it would not before on the S.

4k content will take more space to install on the hard drive. Which means he will be installing less games on the X than what he could install on the S.

He's talking about the S though. It shouldn't download the 4K content automatically unless they choose to do so in the settings.

No, 1TB is more than 500GBs. It's technically 1000GBs. Although, it's actually roughly ~931.32 GB's of usable space.

This discrepancy occurs because of different measuring systems. Instead of 1KB = 1024 bytes, hard drive manufactures use 1kB = 1000 bytes.

With the Xbox One, if I'm not mistaken, the OS and reserved space takes up about 100 or so GB's, which should leave a 1TB console with about 830GB's for games and apps.

At the moment, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to save all of the same games from the 500GB model to the 1TB one.

I could suggest formatting the 1TB Xbox, and seeing how much space you have when there is basically nothing on it. If it's significantly less than 830GB's, then there may be something wrong with that hard drive.

Oops! My mistake, I completely misread the post. For some reason, I took it as 500GB Xbox One to 1TB Xbox One S.

Why am I just able to download less games on a 1TB Xbox One X, then on a 500GB Xbox One S. Im mostly downloading the same games.
