fix for working headset but mic not picking up my voice.

It's a cheap mic...mine stopped working last week. everything works but it will NOT pick up my voice. I try talking to people but they cant hear me but I can hear them through my headset. I've done the resets, I've checked the settings and I've had it. I've
never improperly pulled the headset from the controller or was rough with it. and I'm ***. I demand a fix or free replacement. I didn't pork over $400 just to get a $2 mic that breaks after 3 months of use. Microsoft. FIX THIS!!!

I agree it's awful. Foe such a good headset sound wise the mic is awful. It picks up far to much background noise even with mic monitoring off but cant pick up my voice proper. I've had to switch back to my turtle 70x's which is just stupid. If it's not sorted out I'm getting a refund.

I'm having exactly the same problem! My mic just stopped working. My pack in stereo headset won't power up and my stereo headset isn't picking up my voice. I bought a new adapter and tried both controllers and nothing changed.

I did find one work around that makes me think it's a software glitch. If I use the adapter to connect my 360 pack in headset it works! I can chat with it perfectly. Have you tried that? My problems started about 3 weeks ago completely out of the blue. The
may update hasn't fixed it either.

I am having the exact same issue, my mic is being recognized but won't transmit sound. Out of curiosity do you have a kinect? Also my xbox is the original white xbox one. I can hear party voice and in game voice, but my mic picks up nothing. The companion
app prior to streaming picks up my mic when active. I've seen complaints going back 4+ years for this issue and I haven't seen a single working fix other that messing with what apps are allowed to use the mic, which I verified is set up correctly for me.

I think this is happening to me. I found a fix for it. Question, do you turn your Xbox one on with voice?

Me, whenever I turn my xbox one on with voice and then turn my controller on to start or join a party, my mic/headset does not work. However when I turn the xbox on with the controller and then start or join a party, my mic/headset works.

Yes my kinetic chat is turned off..
