First time setup won't continue after "You are connected"

Have a problem with my new Xbox. I start it up for the first time an follow the steps. After I put in my wireless password it checks the connection - everything seems fine - and tells me that I am connected. I can also push the A button to confirm and it
even gives a sound but will not continue! It doesn't freeze or anything it just won't go to the next screen.

Any suggestions?

Also only one of my two controllers seems to connect to the Xbox. One works fine, on the other the Xbox button just flashes and the turns off after a while.

I would really appreciate your help!

Constant Internet and Xbox Live Connection Issues since adding Xbox One X to my network (2 Xbox)

One thing at first read is that you can't be signed into the same account on two Xbox consoles at the same time.

Next, you stated you have two routers. A feature of a router is to manage port traffic and IP addresses for the devices connected to it. When you add a second router, the devices connected to the second router won't be able to communicate fully to the internet.

You'll need to disable the router function of your second router and turn it into a network switch or better yet just get a network switch for your other device.

For testing, connect both xbox consoles to the first router on your network.

These are airport extreme routers. They are setup to extend each other off of the same network. The network was created with the first router. A line was ran from that router to each of the other two and they are setup as extensions So they are not functioning
as different routers but as one network linked off of the first router.

You stated that devices connected to the second router won't be able to communicate fully to the internet. The PS4, an AppleTV, and a Steam Link are all connected to the second router without issue. They NEVER lose signal. It is only the Xbox that does
so.

I understand what you're saying but do not believe it applies to this situation.

Xbox shuts off when second Xbox is powered on

Hi

Can you please provide some additional information on how everything is connected? such as are both console setup in the same room and connected to the same surge protector/power strip.

Both consoles are in the same room on the same wall. Both connected to same power bar. Two separate TVs.

They give you a step by step thing to help you and to see what is going on. One thing I can think of is try unplugging the Xbox for a few moments and plug it back in and see if that helps. Also you can do a power cycle on the console to see if it helps

Those are the only things that I can think of for the console. With your controller that is not working, is it a wired controller or a wireless controller? If its a wireless controller, does it have new AA batteries in it or does it have a rechargeable battery
in it? Either way, make sure its new AA batteries or the rechargeable battery is charged up. You could also hook it up to a USB to see if it works like that. If it is already a wired controller, I can't think of anything for it.

Anyways, hope you can get your Xbox up and starting!

After the initial setup you can take the console offline and continue to play your disc games without a connection if you prefer. It is the initial setup that requires the connection.

Find a safe place to put the summon sign where others won't see it. If it doesn't appear after a couple minutes, have your friend place their sign down again. Also, restart the game every once in a while until you establish that first connection. I've
found that once you've connected once in a session, you can usually continually connect as long as you don't restart after the first connection.

You need to connect to the internet the first time you use an xbox one as it won't work without an update.

After that you'll be able to use it offline.

Just a Volunteer

Change to wired ethernet connection.

Without the SSID and password details you won't be able to use wireless.

The console setup after factory reset will require these details if using a wireless connection, but wired should connect instantly.
