    First Time Bootup Stuck At Loading Story Mode


    I recently purchased GTA V from ebay. The disk was pretty clean with no visible scratches so I put it in. When I tried to install it, it got stuck at 2801 and wouldn't continue, it seemingly still installing. Eventually, I retried it and it installed correctly.
    Until I inserted the 'play' disk to finally play the game. I got the intro and then it said 'Loading Story Mode' with the little circle thingy and hints popping up. After a while, the screen went black and the intro replayed. Right before the story mode thing
    started again, a thing popped up saying it restarted because there was something wrong with the disk. This surprised me as the disk, like the previous one, was perfectly clean. I looked online and some people have had similar problems but at least they already
    had save files. Mine went straight to the loading story mode with no option for GTA Online. This repeated for a while so I cleared the cache, deleted everything and repeated the installation process but still no luck. Any help?

    First Time Bootup Stuck At Loading Story Mode

    I have a few steps you can try that might help you resolve your issue.

    1. Clear system cache 3 times, restart console.

    If that doesn't work

    2. turn console off, and pull the hard drive out.
    support.xbox.com/.../add-remove-hard-drive     , reinsert the console, then turn the console on. Clear the cache 3 more times, then go into the game.

    If that doesn't work

    3. Delete the title update, and all the DLCs that come with the game only, then go into the game and redownload them. (DO NOT DELETE the game itself, it will have 4 parts, don't delete either one.) Then go into the game and let the title update download,
    then the DLCs.

    -From my interpretation of this sentence, it sounds like the game is not recognizing that you have GTA: Online capabilities. This is your first time playing, right? So I assume that you don't have all the necessary DLC to access Online. However, once you
    get past this minor "hiccup", you should be presented with a screen prompting you to DL the necessary DLC.

    With that said, try starting the game NOT connected to XBL and see if it still gives you problems. You've tried everything else up to this point it seems. If that doesn't work, I'm sorry, but maybe you have to reinstall the first disc as it didn't install
    properly. That's one of the last things you'd like to hear, I understand, but sometimes "reformatting" is the only option.

    Try my first suggestion before resorting to the full reinstall. Good luck First Time Bootup Stuck At Loading Story Mode :)

    I've already uninstalled and reinstalled! Still not working 0_o Anyway, I've got the game refunded from the ebay seller.
