First setup , power screen problem

I have recently bought a new xbox one but during the first turn on , after downloading the necessary updates and choosing the language and time etc. the power menu comes up where it says : "there are two power options for your Xbox while you're not using
it. Lets take a look." However after processing all i get is a blank screen except that i see the green lines of the progress and the "power" step line.

Im using a hdmi to av converter but i had no issues with video other than this. Im using the console on a solid desk not on carpet , and i havent found any other topics that would suggest anything to this problem.

I would appreciate any help .

    :)

Hi so im new and I need some help with my XboxOne

make sure you dont have any static IPs setup in your network settings on your xbox?

    power cycle modem

power off X1 by pressing and holding the power button on the X1 until it shuts down on its own

    wait a minute

    power on the x1

run the network setup from Settings

best bet will be to call MS if that doesnt work so they can determine if it is hardware issue but rule out any issues with your modem first

Cannot connect to XBL with established Internet Connection.

Definitely try a wired connection direct to the modem (power off the modem first, connect the Xbox, power up the modem, wait 2 mins power up the Xbox)

If the problem still exists with a direct connection it is something you should discuss with your ISP as your router setup is not the issue

It was the worst thing you'd ever lay your eyes if you'd seen it, a small chest in the corner of the living room with a tv that wasn't even HD, my 360 was hooked up to the tv via scart lead and the quality looked like an 8-bit game from 80's but still
manmaged to play some bangers like Halo 3 and 4 and some bo2 as well.

I am in a similar situation however I am rather looking for a new TV instead of monitor, but I would also like to get a new headset. Wired is prefferd.

    Hi omgjordin

    Thank you for your reply,

Turtle beach is something i used to use with the 360 and infact have resorted back to my old x41s i had in the loft. I did actually buy a turtle beach headset before my steelseries ones and immediately sold them as i wasnt happy with the quality and feel
and most people i speak to nowadays dont have much to say good about them. However that isnt to say i would entertain the brand or headset given good recommendations repeatedly. Do they or can they be used while charging at all? Do they give you an in-depth
and clear sound which isnt disturbed with distortion? , How much outside noise can you hear while wearing them?

    Thank you

    Hi FRA wappa69,

£400 - £500 is a healthy budget for a monitor but it is not an easy question to answer. As you look into monitors, it becomes a huge minefield that will leave you with more questions than answers. Some of the questions you need to ask are:

What resolution do you aim to play at? 1080p, 1440p or 4K are your options at the moment.

Are you interested in faster refresh rates? Whilst most games are locked between 30-60 frames per second, there appears to be a push towards better refresh rates in console gaming and Series X should make 120hz gaming possible. 4K/120hz
monitors are still expensive and do bare in mind that a current £3000 PC’s with high end GPU struggle to achieve and maintain anything higher than 4K/60hz.

What panel are you interested in? The choice is between TN, IPS and VA. Each one has its positives and negatives.

Your choices really will depend you, the games you play and what you are hoping to achieve from switching to a monitor.

Just make sure when purchasing a monitor for Xbox gaming it complies/comes with the following:

    Freesync

    HDMI 2.0 or 2.1

Check to see what the maximum refresh rate supported over HDMI. This is usually found in the instruction manual. just because it comes with HDMI 2.0, it may not be fully operational.

I myself am torn between a Gigabyte CV27Q which is a 1440p/165hz monitor or waiting to see if Series X will support 3440x1440 ultra wide monitors.

Hope this helps :) and sorry if I have left you with more questions than answers but its good to know what your options are before making an investment.
