    i want to contact microsoft's chat due to a problem in my xbox, but when i enter the chat section it says my first name is invalid (it contains smilies), when i changed my first name, it didnt update in the chat section, so i cant contact microsoft's support, what
    can i do? thanks!

    nvm, i just set everything up on the website and downloaded onto the xbox. its good to go now

    Mine's not quite as bad: it uses my middle initial for some reason, like "Joe M."

    How do we change this?

    Depends on what their first name is, are you putting any special characters into the name field or a space maybe ?
