First my mic on my headset stopped working after an update in april...now my controller is ...

If you contact xbox support you can process a claim and they will send you a shipping label and instructions on how to return your mic to them and they will send you a new one or tell you how to fix this one.

Our xbox one controllers stopped working with the stereo headset (just the mic) all simultaneously.

We tried plugging it into the 3.5 mm jack. None of my 3 controllers worked after having worked fine for months. All updated to latest firmware.

I tested the headset on my iphone and the mic was fine there- I could record voice memos with no problems

went to GameStop and spent $50 for the stereo headset adapter, and that allowed the mic to work again for another 30 days.



Now the mic is stuck on mute again, the headset adapter’s slashmark icon stays lit

I think it a controller update problem. Yesterday I had the same issue. I could hear everybody in party chat on my headset but nobody could hear me. I tried everything: updated the controller, checked my security setting, and even made sure my NAT was
open. I tried to play a game today and same problem, I could hear everybody just fine, but nobody could hear me. I started troubleshooting it and started up a party chat by myself and when ever I would talk my mic would not light up but my connect would
when I unplugged the headset. I thought either the headset is broke or my controller was, so I plugged my headset into another controller that I never use and started a party chat by myself and it worked. When I would talk and my mic would light up, so I
assigned the controller to my profile and did an update on the controller and the mic stopped working after the update. Same issue as before, I talk, but the mic wont light up. It like it like the update permanently muted my mic for the headset on that controller
after the update.

I have spent the last 6 hours with 3 techs trying to figure this out. I have an issue almost like it. I had to update the controller because i bought the new adapter piece that lets you use your old 360 headsets. After the update the mic has stopped working
on all headsets, everything else works fine with the controller or microphones. My kinect mic works fine.....and they want me to pay to send my controllers in..... i have tested all three controllers on two different xboxes and nothing works now. All I
can think at this point is they need another firmware upgrade on the controllers!

This has never happened to me before and I am very confused. It was weird how one controller stopped working with my mic, and when I swapped over to my second controller, it too stopped working with my mic two weeks after the first controller. With trying out my controllers on another xbox, it leads me to believe that it is not specifically a xbox console problem and has something to do with my controllers.
