First major site with a Destiny review

Most of the major sites have yet to put a review of Destiny up. Well Polygon did and it doesnt look good.

Lol ign had a review up two weeks before. Compare ALL of his reviews with major game sites. Nuff said.

 

Where are all the reviews??

The PC review is up on a few sites, but the game sites didn't get a copy of the console versions until yesterday. Plus they wanted to wait to play until the major update was applied (today) as well as with the texture pack. So the review is out for a bit.

but you'll find no such thing here."

I noticed that too, and thought it was rather odd (to say the least). Even Morrowind, a game that is more than a decade old would never do that to an adventurist.

 

I'm not sure that giving quality rewards for going 15 seconds out of your way is the right way to go in a game like this. Considering a strike can take 45 minutes and raids will probably take much longer to get decent loot, why would you want to be rewarded
for opening a box? The other thing to keep in mind is that we are all relatively low level. People think 'max lvl 20'...but in the grand scheme of things lvl 20 is going to be peanuts. How long did it take to get a gold gun in borderlands? How about a
pearlescent?

I think what they should have done is have it visually similar to borderlands. I loved opening a box and seeing a gun with a certain color. Now I just get a blue light.

 

The more I think about it, the more I feel like they could have done a better job with the 'rewards' presentation. In Borderlands there was nothing like opening a box or killing a villain to see a purple beam of light....Even if the weapon or loot wasn't
all that great it was still exciting to see that purple/gold beam.

In this game I usually don't even notice when I pick up a gun/item. It can be hours before I check my inventory and see a beastly gun sitting there....Which leads to "When did I get this?" instead of "Purple/gold gun!! Woohoo! Hold on guys I gotta check
this thing out!"

 

"You’ve grouped up with a few friends and you’re pushing through content, maybe scouring the world in some freeform patrolling or participating in PVP. Someone in your team picks up an unidentified item and wants to find out what it is and possibly equip
it. You’re now on the hook to stop everything you’re doing, un-queue from the next PVP battle or head off-planet, and slog through multiple load screens to go see what it is. And then you’re going to have to go through the motions all over again to head back
out to whatever it is that you were happily doing with your crew. It’s arduous and completely unnecessary, and extends to bounty turn-ins as well."

I have found myself not wanting to explore at all. I usually now am just rushing to get to my objective, maybe they will add more things to find in the future(I hope they do). I love exploring in games, but what's the point if I am not going to find anything?
