Firmware downgrade (removal of beta NXOE)

Is there any way to manually install an older firmware or OS on the xbox one? I opted out of the preview program as I was having lots of bugs and I want a stable system to experience Halo 5 on. I have been waiting sometime to receive the file to install
the older dashboard... hope it comes soon..

What version of firmware did you downgrade to?

 

The preview update problems

There is no way to downgrade the firmware, and this is something that was explicitly stated in the preview materials when you signed up to beta test it. You'll simply have to wait until the update rolls out (likely on March 7th) to all users.

 

The official post says that it will be around 72 hours, but I have read that it is taking longer for some people.

 

It's really a shame there is no way to manually fresh install the OS like with Windows. Really hope mine goes through before the 27th :/

 

You dont receive a update to remove the dashboard

The nxoe is a newer build thenthe old dashboard

If you want to remove the nxoe you need to wait till you are removed from the beta then factory reset your console

 

Oh I was under the impression I would be pushed an update that would return me to the old dashboard and force me to reformat. Is that not the case?

 

It's not a file or an update. Microsoft just factory resets your console which will remove everything and you will have to redownload everything.

 

But there´s so many stuff, that can´t get redownloaded again (!!) - so, what´s to do?

The "OSUDT 2" dont´t give´s you an older system nor does it work at all?

As long as this happens soonish so I have time to reinstall halo 5 before launch I am happy. Waiting for it for 1 day so far.

 

With betas you need a higher build number to replace the out going build so either you revert back via factory default or wait for bc update offical

Good luck. I removed mine and it automatically put it back last night. The result? The system was stuck on the green start up screen and I ended up spending all night trying to fix it before needing to do a complete system restore. I lost everything on my
internal hard drive because of it. Needless to say I am not happy with Microsoft releasing such horrible, buggy updates to the public. Beta or not, this should not be this bad. My bandwidth cap is now shot for the month and I have no trust in putting any new
games on my system until this is fixed. I ended up canceling my Halo 5 pre-order thanks to this. My PS4 is looking better all the time and until Microsoft fixes this garbage dashboard that is where my money is going.

 

That sucks man. It does say that will happen in the FAQ though. It is in the link I posted.

@phantasy noone forced you to sign up for the beta

You chose to join it kwowijg that you would hsve to deal with bugs

Noinr forced you to acceot non public updates

These are not meant for the public but for actual testers

If you didjt want bugs you sshouldve waited for the public release instead you signed up probably for the bc preview

Next time read what you are getting into

It clearly states it is a beta

Betas are meant for testers if you cannot accept bugs then dont sign up for them
