    Firestick still connected?


    So I did not have enough HDMI ports on my TV, so I plugged it into my Xbox. It started having power issues so I unplugged my DVD player since you can play DVD and Blu-ray on Xbox One. Now when I try to use voice command on my Firestick, it tries to head
    into Xbox. How do I fix this? Otherwise it leaves voice command virtually useless for me XD

    What I mean by it tries to head into Xbox, is it sends me to the HDMI that the Xbox is plugged into... when I hold the microphone button on the Firestick to start a voice command. ....
    The FireTV Stick does
    CEC via HDMI    . So whenever the FireTV Stick gets activated, it'll try to control the TV and tell it to switch to that HDMI port it's currently connected to. That way, you can also control the FireTV Stick with your TV's remote instead of the FireTV remote
    control.

    So if the stick is still connected to some HDMI port along with the Xbox, activating the FireTV stick will cause the TV to switch to that input.

    But since you say, you do NOT have the stick on the Xbox anymore, it'd be interesting to know what you have on your TV connected how.

    Try clearing the cache by holding the console's X button for 10 seconds, it might work again.

    What I mean by it tries to head into Xbox, is it sends me to the HDMI that the Xbox is plugged into. And yes, I did previously have a Kinect. However, I don't think its that, as this only happens when I hold the microphone button on the Firestick to start
    a voice command. So, I am guessing it is not that. But I am still guessing that it has something to do with the Xbox, as the Firestick was previously plugged into the Xbox and it just so happens that the HDMI it changes to is the same one that the Xbox is
    plugged into. This is a very weird situation that is why I reached out.
