    Fire HD 8 - Xbox Streaming Preview No Longer Works


    Hello all, I wanted to give some feedback on the current situation with ALL Fire HD tablets. The tablet I have is the latest of the many Fire HD Tablets and meets the minimum specifications of the application. Back in January the application worked fine and going back to the older apk works fine too: Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) 1.12.2001.1402.6492eca01 (20011402)

    This is however the thing:

    Game Console Streaming - Works as intended.

    Xcloud (With sign in and activation all active) - Does not work

    Any version after this simply does the following:

    1. Sign in to the application (sometimes is auto logged in)
    2. Goes to the main screen for Xcloud
    3. Click a game to play
    4. Tries to load the game description and option to play game - At this point the application crashes, sends the application to the background and the Home screen is shown of the Tablet.

    Issues:

    • No Game can be selected or played.
    • No feedback can be given in the application as the app crashes on this screen too!



    Current solution:

    • Reverting back to Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) 1.12.2001.1402.6492eca01 (20011402) which seems to indicate the update after this one caused the crashing of the app indicates Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) 1.12.2003.0203.8a8016580 (20030203) had a bug in causing the crash?

    Request:

    • Investigate into what has caused the crash and implement a fix for future application versions.

    So you didn't get the memo that HD DVDs are no longer being pressed and HD DVD drives are no longer being manufactured?



    You'll know in a few weeks if there's any special HD DVD support. No one in the preview program should be discussing the preview with people outside the preview program.

    Still no answer? YouTube and Netflix stream HD but game trailers freeze (I assume to buffer) every ~8 seconds.

    That recent auto update seems to have caused a bunch of problems. I mean, one day I turn on my xbox and while on the dashboard it said Netflix Update installed.

    Ever since that update, I could no longer view movies in HD. I figured something was wrong since my other movie apps on the 360 streamed HD and Netflix streamed HD on my other console and my Blu Ray player too.

    You can stream from the Xbox app built into Windows 10 and 11
