Finally upgraded my Xbox 360 to the 500GB...

I cannot believe it took almost 6 hours to transfer my content from my 320gb to the 500gb...I only hope it's to do with the older USB standard and their proprietary cable?? Next i'm looking at getting my hands on a nice fast external drive for my XB1.
I only hope it's alot quicker for transfers with the 3.0 USB.

hello guys! i really want to get into the preview program for xbox 360 so i can finally use for my 500GB external HDD for my 4GB model if its possible to invite someone on the xbox 360 program can you invite me? i would REALLY appreciate it!!

 

Finally upgraded my console

should have put it towards an XB1 ... not really an upgrade is it its still a 360 ...

edit : ive kept my 360 and gone back to it from time to time ...

 

Seems like a waste of money upgrading your 360 I understand holding on to it but there's very few if any 360 exclusives that aren't out yet and sounds like you already have a One

 

I think so he can keep all his Games with Gold. Maybe. I know mine has filled up rather quickly

USB 3.0 is ten times faster than the 2.0 ports on the 360 so you'll see much faster transfer rates on the One.

there is still plenty of life in the xbox 360 and yes the hard drive fills up quick with games free each month and there are also some games that are only available to the Xbox 360 and the chance of getting to play them on the One is slim to none. Games
like NCAA Football will never be made again and I figured keeping my 360 around since it's the newer Halo 4 version is a better option than trying to trade in my system and all my 360 games for around $3-$8 each from gamestop. When you figure there's another
couple of years of life left at a minimum, it will be used.

I'm still surprised to see how many people are online at a certain for the 360 versus the One still almost a year later.

 

I upgrade my Xbox 360 to a 500gb as well but I didn't use the transfer cable..nope not this time..I had to sit through that before, not doing it again. I just used a few USB drives I had and it went much quicker. I have about 30 games that I haven't started
playing yet on 360 and upgrading the HDD for cheap, to keep them all on one drive was totally worth it.

 

Six hours to transfer nearly 300GB on a USB 2.0 connection sounds about right to me. I can confirm that on the One such transfers are much quicker. I transferred five games off the internal to an external, about 170GB and it took less than an hour. Although
the good thing with the One is you don't need to do it all at once, you transfer a bit at a time.

I've had my Xbox 360 slim 250gb since I joined late 2010. I've played about 25 games on it, and still see no need to upgrade anything on it. I still have 87GB free on my 360 console and I install most of my games to the consoles HDD.

It's a good question that. If I use a good external HDD for my Xbox 1.... since it has 3.0 USB ports, if it will read just as fast or faster. My Xbox 1 console on the other hand has only 62GB free space. I have 12 Xbox 1 games including Halo MCC Minecraft
and I don't want to list the games I have again.

I will never get rid of my Xbox 360 and I have considered buying the Xbox 360 E with 250 GB. But seeing as how the 32 GB Flash Drives go on sale often for $10.00 each, I would rather buy the 32 GB Flash Drives as I need them LOL

I love that idea too. I even back up my Minecraft world saves to USB just in case my HDD malfunctions.

In NZ, a 4GB 360 costs around $199/$279 and a 250GB 360 console costs $299/$399. So there's like a $100 price difference at least between a 4GB and a 250GB console. So clearly can see it cheaper getting an external HDD/USB rather than paying what Microsoft
charges.

The 250 GB Xbox 360 E cost about $200 so it isn't worth the upgrade because I still have a barely used " Jasper " Xbox 360 in storage and those 32 GB Flash Drives for $10 each (when on sale) is awesome
