Finally picked up the xbox one

So ive finally got one. Ive had the ps4 since christmas and largely have enjoyed it. First impressions of the one are very good. Kinect voice commands are superb and so easy to use. Downloaded titanfall in a couple of hours which is much faster than I was
expecting. Im sure ill have many questions to ask over the next few days but ill start with a couple.

Is there a way you can view the progress of ongoing downloads?

Can you put the system in standy mode so that updates can be downloaded if youre out or does it do this from the off mode?

Yes, "My Games and Apps" has the queue for downloads and the active download will have a progress bar. The Queue allows you to change the line up of DLs if you like.

This is being implemented in the April patch that is in beta right now. To get that update, your Xbox will download it when you shut it down (Once the update is available, it is not available to the public yet) and then you have to turn it on manually without
voice commands to install it. The new update Post April will download and install the update and move back into standby once complete.

Hey... congrats.

1) progress.... go to game and apps. You will see progress there

2) in settings go to power and start up and choose power mode - instant on. that allows for you to turn xbox on via voice commands and allows system downloads to happen when you are off.

Any question. Any way to shut down apps? I know these are probably stupid questions.

One of the odd things about the one..... you really don't shut down games and apps.... you just switch

Ive only got positives so far, from the setup to getting to grips with the new look and kinect. Very very impressed and not even had a chance to play titanfall yet.

 

You shut die. Apps and games by hitting what used to be the start button and towards the bottom is a choice to close it

 

when at home screen any app that is the larger window.. you press the pause (menu) button where there should be an option to quit...

 

Congrats on your purchase! I think you will be happy to find out how user friendly this system is and how well it improves your home tv system. I am amazed how well everything flows thru my X1. The voice commands are second to none!

 

Yeah the voice commands really are great. Its the little things that have impressed me so far really. I was blown away when I was able to just hold the voucher up to kinect and boom, starts downloading. Lol

Also noticed how quiet the system is compared to the ps4. Heard a few people on here complain about the power brick but I think its a good thing.

Both consoles are great imo, looking forward to giving titanfall a go today!
