Finally I can play Destiny.....

If it adds something to the experience, then good for Bungie.

 

@Digital..... Destiny is playable, enjoyable. I like. Borderlands was 100% for me! Great games!!

 

I never really liked Borderlands, but I might be more willing to try it again because of Destiny.

 

Never played Borderlands - but as far as Destiny is for me....absolutely loving it. Cannot fault it at all - not really understanding the criticisms, but each to their own, right?

 

If it adds to the experience then that is all well and good Az, it shouldn't be required to understand what is going on in the game though.

 

I am enjoying destiny so far but only have a lvl 18 guy right now. Spending time doing PVP more than anything as I am already a little bored on the linear planet missions / paths and had to break it up. I am actually rather surprised at how light the story
has been so far and did expect more.

Having said that - it's fun as a shooter goes. I can't see myself ever making a second or third character that plays through the story again - maybe right to pvp.

 

GM, while I can understand not wanting to go through the story again, I think you'd be missing out on 1/3 of the game by not creating 2 other characters with the other classes. They offer a lot of really cool and different abilities, especially at the higher
levels. Besides, you're likely to do the daily heroic story missions anyways, right? So, I say go all in!

 

Nah I'm with GM. I'm just gonna farm level/PvP the other 2 characters. I already have legendaries for both of them in my vault so I won't have to go through the most boring story in video game.. wait for it.. galaxy! Seriously. The story isn't this game's
strongpoint. It's that addicting factor it has going on.

 

So it is a cold cloudy day today.... been playing for a little bit. Started on the MP...... good grief.... I'm a lvl 6 matched with lvl 24-25..... come on!!!

 

I do not recommend going into the Crucible until 1 of 2 things happens, whichever comes first:

[1] You reach level 20.

[2] You max out your character's sub-class abilities.

You can start as early as level 6, but you will be woefully short on options because the abilities you have simply won't compare to what other higher level players will have. For example, having a grenade, a floaty jump, and a super won't stand a chance
against someone who can throw down 2 grenades, self-revive, go invisible, teleport, or put up a dome-shield - it just isn't going to happen. Sure, I suppose you could try, but it will definitely be an uphill battle and a lot less fun as a result.

 

^That is why I won't even bother with PvP... if you need to jump through that many hoops in order to be 'competitive' or at the very least not be "woefully short"... it's broken. Simple as that.

 

It's not broken ABI; broken means practically unplayable... It's very much playable; it just becomes more of a challenge as a result. I assure you, it is still possible to do well, even at lower levels (especially if you're familiar with shooters) - my best
game occurred when I was only lvl. 15 (over 25 kills, 10 captures, and 2 deaths). Besides, you get loot quite often in the Crucible (that particular match I had mentioned above is what got me my exotic LMG, the "Thunderlord") and Crucible ranks to get really
cool gear from the Crucible Quartermaster and that one horned dude across from him (can't recall his name or title) once you do reach lvl. 20+.

 

Low level pvp isn't that bad. They have some sort of a system in place so that a lvl 20 guy won't completely mop the floor with lower levels. It's quite possible for a lvl 6 to go in and rack up a decent score.
