Finally Got Titanfall

Rail gun kills were a little rough, but i found the easiest way to complete it was to play LTS with a friend, my friend would soften up a titian and i'd make the last few shots to finish it off, auto titans are prime targets also.

i just started playing again over the weekend since Woflenstein released, been getting rocked, but still enjoying it, i don't hope they add more weapons and weapon attachments, but still fantastic fun to play.

 

Love the game but do feel it is missing something to give it that spark. When I play it I thoroughly enjoy it but I just don't have the urge to play it like I thought I would. I think I was hoping for something to fill the huge hole in my gaming life that
is Gears (sniff) ;(

Anyway I am looking forward to the new modes this month and it is still my go to MP game along with PvZ:GW (also a very good game).

 

Thanks for the tips etc etc, Definately a fun game and different enough to have me playing this and Bf4 and Cod. I do see some limitations but this has allot to do with why I hadn't bought it at $99 Au. Anyway, I intend on spending many hours this weekend
getting used to this title. GG, State of the art sensors Yeah I know from the 8 or 9 yellow triangles telling me where people are wasting me from.

 

@GG - I agree the Generations can be a bit tough, and can get boring if you're forced to play a style you don't like. I think G3 was toughest for me....the Rail Guns. But like someone else said if you play LTS you can speed up the process. And I think
that is the point - the Generations make you play different and they encourage you to play different modes (whereas I tend to just play Attrition if I can get away with it).

So for example I'm trying to get to G5 and I need lots of kills with the sidearm - hence at some point I'll have to switch to playing Pilot Hunter maybe....so that I focus on completing the challenge.

One problem I have is that I need to get lots of kills with the charge rifle, but it isn't unlocked until much later....that doesn't seem right/fair....think that's my only criticism.

 

Great game, I'm happy you like it OP, but mine is long gone, traded it in as I got really annoyed with being forced into gaming in ways I don't like to rank up, and add to that, some weapons are not available at the beginning of regeneration, so you have
to level up significantly in some cases to get what you need, great game, shame about being forced to play the game in ways you don't like for regeneration.

 

I really like the challenges for regeneration, with one or two exceptions. They made me a better player. Without them, you're just repeating the same thing 10 times in a row.

One thing you can do is look up the challenges for the next gen, then save the relevant burn cards until you regenerate. That way you have access to amped versions of weapons you need from level 1 and it helps you complete the challenges quicker, as well
as helping you level up faster too. The higher the generation you are, the more XP you earn as well, so you level up fast anyway.

The toughest generation for me was 5, trying to get goosers. I'm now generation 8, level 50 and 2 challenges I need to do there are winning 100 games and dropping my titan on 50 enemies. The 100 games is no problem, but I seem to suck at dropping my titan
on enemies, even using the warpfall transmitter. Theoretically, it should be easy to drop your titan on groups of grunts/spectres to get multiple kills at once, but they seem to move out of the way just in time. Still, I'll get there.

The new patch is out next week, right? That adds achievements for the DLC, titan burn cards, titan customisation, 2 new game modes, and some other tweaks.

 

Gotta use the Titan IMO. If you play with friends and coordinate your titans, you will dominate nearly every match. The most difficult generations for me were 8 and 9. I think I have been a 10 for a month and a half and it is very relaxing to just enjoy
the game now lol.

 

To the OP, if you're playing this like COD then I would have a watch of some of FrothyOmen's tutorials on YouTube, particularly his 3 part parkour series. Here's part 1: -

 

...and there, BigHemi, I think is where the game becomes unbalanced. I play TF with a full party and team where we're communicating every chance we get, but if the other team gets a slew of 4 or more Titans, it's nearly impossible to win.

I also like the advice regarding saving up burn cards for the next generation, but there's an inherent flaw with that - in order to earn burn cards of a certain kind (say, SMG, for example), you have to use that weapon/equipment. This means that you're using
said stuff for TWO generations, which can make playing the same thing over and over again EVEN MORE boring AND doing so slows you down even MORE for your current gen... :|

 

It's also annoying when player are trying to win the match by playing the objective and you have other players trying to get 300000000 kills with the Smart Pistol when they could be team playing, slight exaggeration, but you'll all get what I mean.

I agree, its a game you need a bit of practise with first but for the most part. Its a solid game and offers a lot of replay value. I still have my copy so if I see you or anyone on it, I will load it up and jump in.

Lol! Whipped and under the thumb are totally different. I haven't levelled up enough in life to be whipped yet but I am well on my way

Joking aside, if you fancy a game this week, hit me up bro. Even if it says im offline, I keep forgetting to change it each time I boot up the console. Gone are the 360 days where it made you change it to offline yourself rather then remember your last set
preference.

 

Hey RedEye I've got this game too, but don't play it as much as I would like as playing with randoms alone just isn't that fun and my friends don't really play that much or are never on. Me being an NZer and on the same server and similar time differences
should be fine if you're keen for a few rounds send over a FR if you want.
