Finally bought an Xbox One!!

Many people say to turn the volume way up during the Kinect calibration process. I find that, for me anyways, that doesn't necessarily work (I've had better results at normal levels of volume).

 

When I turn the volume up during kinect calibration, it tells me to turn the volume down.

 

Same here, which is why I think people are having issues - many of them are probably ignoring that message.

 

I had my TV on my normal listening volume when I set up my Kinect, never got a warning saying it was too loud or too quiet. It's strange that the only voice command that doesn't seem to work properly is Xbox On. Oh well, it's noting major just a bit annoying.

 

Welcome! What other games are you thinking about picking up?

 

So far all I have is Titanfall, Max: Curse of the Brotherhood, and Halo: Spartan Assault. Well also Forza 5 but I haven't played it yet, not a fan of racing games so I may never play it...

I'm thinking about getting Murdered: Soul Suspect when it drops in price $30 or less. Also AC: Black Flag, Ryse, and maybe Wolfenstein.

 

Ryse is actually a pretty decent game and can recommend it. It should be on sale again soon though so keep an eye out.

Black, I urge you to give FM5 a try - I'm not a fan of racing games either, but I have learned a lot from playing FM5 and have grown to enjoy it. Also, a lot of the forum regulars have a weekly get-together to play the game that is usually a lot of fun.
You should join us! It'll improve the game 10-fold; of that, I can assure you.
