Final Fantasy Lightning Return default Japanese on Xbox One X?

I bought a Xbox One X, and I want to use it to play Final Fantasy Lightning Return with the enhanced graphics.

The games is the digital version. All my XB360, XB1, XB1 X set to Traditional Chinese and location Hong Kong.

But the game only shows Chinese on the XB360.

On XB1 and XB1 X, the game run in Japanese which makes me no way to play it.

Is there any fix for this?

Who is hoping for FFXIII-3?

It's going to be called Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns, which Square Enix is sheduling for release this year \^u^/ for both Xbox 360 and PS4. Question is since Xbox One and PS4 also will release this year, will they create the game for those consoles
which should mean better graphics on Xbox One and PS4 compared with Xbox 360 and PS3.

I love Final Fantasy XIII. It was my first Xbox 360 game. Also got Final Fantasy XIII-2. Cant wait until it releases. Graphics look good. And they've released an official trailer of Final Fantasy Lightning Returns.

I noticed in the marketplace that there is a Japanese voice pack that is a separate add-on. When did you buy this game in digital version? Recently or a long time ago?

I found that there is voice settings in the in-game settings. To switch the voice language, go to the main menu and select Settings, and then Voice.

Also under your Xbox One X system language settings make sure the spoken language is set to your preferred language as well as the regular language setting.

Since this is a 360 game I would also make sure your Xbox 360 account region is set to Hong Kong. Go to

https://account.xbox.com/Settings/Home/?xr=mebarnav&rtc=1# and select "Change 360 account region" and make sure it says Hong Kong.

I bought this game long time ago (before Xbox One launch).

This game can run with Tradition Chinese text / menu regardless which voice language (there is no Chinese voice for this game) on my Xbox 360. This is what I want to achieve on the Xbox One X. Japanese or English voice are both OK, however, I want Chinese
text / menu.

Yes, in my Xbox One X system, all language set to Chinese, location is Hong Kong.

When I follow go to that link and try to set it to Hong Kong. It gives me this error,





However, I never know this link exist, I never been to there. And I have no memory that I've changed my Xbox 360 region. How can I check which Xbox 360 region my account belongs to now?

So to clarify the game is defaulting the text and subtitles to Japanese on your Xbox One X but on your Xbox 360 it shows text and subtitles in Chinese and you bought this game digitally a long time ago on the Xbox 360, correct?

Unfortunately the only way to check your 360 account region is on a 360 console I believe.

1. On your console, go to settings, and then select System.
   
2. Select Console Settings.
3. Select Language and Locale.
4. Select Locale.

Completely correct. The same game, same setting (I never need to touch the game setting, and all Xbox have the same language setting), but default shows Chinese text and subtitles on Xbox 360, but default shows Japanese text and subtitles on Xbox One X.

 

Hello Martin,

It could be when the game became backward compatible they were unable to get license again for the Chinese version. It gets very involved when making a game backward compatible. A lot of it is the developers. You could get with
Square Enix and see what they can tell you.
