Fifa 19 The Journey crashing chapter 2

Hi, on FIFA19 - The journey..... chapter 2 after a game against Sporting and training....the game keeps crashing and resetting back to the xbox home game. This happens with the main character alex hunter and also with the other 2 characters. Completely
stuck! I spoke with someone from xbox one advice yesterday who suggested a full power down. Done that and no good. They then suggested to uninstall the game and reinstall and that would fix it. I have now done this and it still keeps crashing!! I am unable
to get any further on the journey. Please help.

What's signed mean? on my xbl account ? then YO - I also have Fable - the lost chapters, and fable 2, though never bothered with all on fable 2, and lost chapters doesn't have any, probably won't ghet knex so no Journey

 

how do i exit the journey to play "normal" fifa 17?

I'm new to xbox and fifa and have started playing the journey. Is it possible to exit this and just play "normal" fifa or do you have to complete the whole of the journey first?

 

Hi this sounds like a corrupted download, which can be frustrating for sure. when this happens, I've found that you need to uninstall the game first, Then clear local saved games before installing again. Otherwise you just download the same issue. I would
try that option to see if that makes things work and simultaneously removes your frustrations at the same time.

 

Hi mate, thanks very much for the reply. I am actually trying to solve this for my son (whos too young to be on this forum!) so please excuse my lack of knowledge.....

you say “clear local saved games” is this easy to do? And after doing this would he still have all his careers saved and return to the same point on the journey when i reinstall it? Or would he lose everything?

Again....many thanks for your help..... he is on the verge of tearing his hair out (and getting back into fortnite which thankfully Fifa19 has taken him away from!!! Ha).

 

Hello Craig,

This is a fairly simple process, go ahead and follow this:

1. Go to Settings
2. From settings, select System
3. Find Storage and select Clear Local Saved Games

The way this step works is explained when making this selection, the game saves will be removed from the console but the next time the game is accessed, the
Cloud Saves will kick in to load of the last information which was automatically saved when the game was accessed.

Try it out and let us know if it works, or if further assistance is needed.

Sorry to hear that you and your son are experiencing this issue when trying to play FIFA 19.

I would say that if you have not yet, to try following the troubleshooting steps here on our support page we have for this issue called

"My Xbox One game won't start or freezes during gameplay".

Could it be possibly the disc or not? Would it be worth trying his friends fifa 19 disc?

Thanks for replying to keep us updated. As mention before by Esteban, the
Xbox Game Freeze Solution has multiple troubleshooting steps in its wizard that can help you get your son back to gaming in FIFA19. Some other options to try are removing the profile from the console, restarting it and then re-adding the profile.

1. Press the Xbox button
   to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > Account >
   Remove accounts.
3. Select the account you want to remove (the one that’s experiencing the gameplay issue), and then select
   Remove.

Restart the console.

1. Press the Xbox button
   to open the guide.
2. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select
   Add new.
3. Type in the email address and password that you use to access your Microsoft account (the same account that you just removed).
   

You also mentioned that you have the game on disc. If you are attempting to reinstall the game and its on disc, I would recommend that you do so while the

console is in offline mode (not connected to the internet) as sometimes during installation there are game updates that try to push through while the install is going. Once you complete the installation and return to online mode (re-connect to an internet
network), then the game will automatically begin its updates. Additionally, you'll want to be sure that the installation and updates are fully completed prior to attempting to launch or play the game.

1. Press the Xbox button
   to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings.
3. Choose Network.
4. Select Network settings > Go offline.

To go back online, repeat the first three steps, and in step 4 choose
Go online.

I have just carried out both the suggestions above (removing the account and installing offline first) and still exactly the same. The journey crashes (sounds like a jumping noice coming from the xbox and goes off fifa onto the xbox home page).

I see you have done quite a bit of troubleshooting, which is great since it greatly narrows down what could be causing the game to crash. I am a huge FIFA fan so hopefully I am able to add a few more tips to this already extensive thread. You mentioned this
is for your son, if you could please ask him if the crashing only occurs in the Journey it would greatly help. FIFA has a ton of game modes, so have him test out whichever ones he touches (FUT, seasons, career, pro clubs, etc). If we can narrow it down to
just the Journey then it could be an issue with the save itself, which sadly the only option would be to overwrite that save. Since it is chapter 2, it shouldn't be a catastrophic loss for him. I see you suggested the disc as a possible cause of this. It honestly
might be, but it is an extremely slim chance. Hope this helps, and feel free to reach out again for help. We are constantly checking up on these active threads.

 

Hi, I can confirm it is just on the journey mode....chapter 2 after training. Tried all 3 charachters and crashes with all of them.

have totally uninstalled it and locally saved games and also tried installing with another disc.

Same still happens. So frustrating....I’m thinking it may be a fault in the EA game that needs a patch?

the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!
