Feeling "isolated"

Okay, so with the sale this past week, I decided to take the plunge and purchase Alien Isolation. However, I seem to be having a problem - I can't play it (at least, not for long). Every time I've started it up thus far, the cutscenes lag something fierce
(not too mention the incredibly long load times) and the game itself crashes within minutes (I've barely just arrived on the station). It's annoying and is ruining what I was told was supposed to be an otherwise awesome experience. Is this a known issue and
if so how do I go about fixing/getting around it?

Update problems

I keep getting an "unable to sync user" error since the update. Does anyone know of any fixes or is the problem to soon or isolated to me?

 

I personally never had any of the issues you've describe, I seem to remember the load times being a little long as standard and it did completely crash during a loading screen once, but that is as bad as it got for me.

I had a look at the official support forums and a few people have said a power cycle got is working as normal, but haven't found the same issue as you:

One more thing, were you playing the game while it was still installing or completed the install? I seem to remember people having issues when playing it while it was still installing/downloading even though it gave the 'ready to play' message.

 

My game was seriously glitches when I started it before it was done installing, walls were missing, couldn't interact with anything, but once it installed and I restarted the game it was fine, only other issue was with frame rates, a few times the screen
completely froze for a moment or two leaving me almost dead, but, no crashes that I can recall.

 

Yeah, if it isn't fixed by the time you start playing it, then I would try power cycling your console, which you do by holding the power button down for 10second (when the console is on) until it turns off, unplugging the power supply, and leaving it for
a couple of minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on. If all that fails, I'd try deleting and reinstalling the game
