Fed up with gamertags and the lack of obtaining them.

Oh no! Not another OG gamertag post! I normally don't care about most topics to go and make a post on a forum, but this is absolutely ridiculous. We all know original gamertags are supposively "taken", or they're banned for users violating the ToS by attempting
to sell them and make a profit. What about those of us that are stuck having to compromise their gamertag with a really ugly (and stupid) set of numbers after or having to substitute a letter for a number, with no intention to abuse the rules? The popular
reply (although I feel it is a scapegoat of sorts) is the "name" may be in use on other services Microsoft offers. If that were true, where is the logic in that? They know good and well what sort of problems that would cause. Gamertags should be separate from
all other sources, including email. We all know some of these tags are legit simply NOT being used, on any service, and all we can be told is there is nothing they(Microsoft) can do for us. It's like a slap in the face as a consumer. As if my loyalty to your
product and services is simply negligible to them. Shouldn't their motto be "what have you done for me lately?" as in a current customer, instead of "What if?" referring to that EX customer potentially coming back? If you're renting a house, and decide to
stop paying for a couple months your butt is homeless. Yeah I may have went deep with this but it's beyond frustrating and even more so considering I can't be told anything satisfactory. Something that makes me feel like my concerns are even considered. At
the least Microsoft should investigate each case and see what they can do for you. Even if it took weeks/Months to make a decision, at least let the people, your customers, have a fair chance at a name they would like to represent them on Xbox Live.

Ok , so you spend 5 mins thinking of an "original" GT , input said "original" GT , only to be informed that it's taken...............guess what , it's that "ORIGINAL" someone thought of it maybe ten years ago , stop whining and think of another.

 

Think of another? Dude, EVERY single word, whether it's a noun, verb.. whatever. is practically taken. I have every right to "whine".I've given Microsoft thousands of dollars over the years.

 

Like I said dude , xbox live been about for over a decade so chances of finding a one word GT is like finding hens teeth . Why not translate the one word GT into a foreign language and use that.

 

Why not? Because i'm simply tired of being told bologna. Until this I respected Microsoft for their customer support. Never had a problem with them. Now i'm tossing them in that boat with other companies.

 

It's not extreme to mean what you say and stand up for what you believe. Saying it's no big deal is the very same reason we're given these watered down titles from companies which are clearly money grabs. I'm looking at you HALO 4.

 

What's Halo4 got to do with your self entitlement , you were whining about not being able to get a GT that someone else has , MS are not just gonna bin that guy off so you can have the GT . So yeah , extreme .

 

There is literally an infinite amount of possible gamertags you can pick, why should someone else have their tag taken off them just for you??

Mine took 2 seconds. If you can't think of an original gt, you have no imagination or creativity.

 

These people are no longer using these said gamertags, which is evident by their friend list, gamerscore and the fact the account hasn't been touched in the 3+ years i've been tracking it. So Microsoft should not feel obligated to them at all. Where as I,
a current customer, should have dibs on whatever name has been left behind. I don't expect you to get the Halo reference. You're all probably casual gamers who don't ask questions. Just accept what you're given. And i'm sorry but BizarroMantis is unique? LOLOL

as opposed to being a Hardcore gamer???? Look up the definition on Urban dictionary......

Meth cd, You can also use the console to suggest a few name options..... remember, whatever tag you want was also a paying customer who had first dibs......

Halo 3 was a better game but, if you wanna go there, ODST or Halo Wars would be a better example IMO I've always said Halo was over hyped anyway.

Either stick with what you have or pick something else....
