February update out

In other forums I see moderators "combine" threads. How come I don't see the mods do that here? Is it something that can't be done with the current forum setup?

 

Seems like the Feb update has resolved my dashboard freezing issues.... updated my controller last night, now I have instant response...... cool.....

 

So many big changes that seem like "nice things to have" while so many core issues are going unchanged.

I seriously don't understand what is happening with xbox one - it is meant to be an all in one media box yet clearly the game-playing console is the only thing driving development (and maybe TV streaming).

Fix the interfaces!!

 

I love the transparent tiles and the new controller update definitely makes the controller feel more responsive, could be my imagination though. I could take or leave the game hubs. Decent update that's for sure. People forget that the Xbox 360 dashboard/reliability
we had towards the end of it's cycle was leagues above what it was like the first year or so it was launched. I'm confident the Xbox One dashboard/features will continue to improve, especially with Windows 10.

 

I love the semi-transparent tiles it's good if you add your own photos or pictures to the Dashboard background. I no longer have a Windows 8 UI shouting 'hey I'm Windows 8 I'm going to obscure your Dashboard background pic'.

 

How many in the preview program voted yes to transparency scale from 1-10? I know I did, wasn't it a popular choice? Anyway, it's a good edition, in fact I think I voted yes to everything last preview.

 

Good update. Turning the console on via controller is snappier, but I did experience a controller disconnect yesterday during game play. (I did update the controller firmware.) Doesn't seem to be a battery issue - no low battery warning and still plenty
of rumble. It happens to me so rarely that it's not a huge issue, but I was kind of hoping this update would fix that.

@RedEye. Yep, I voted for the 1-10 scale. I would definitely like to make my tiles more transparent tbh.

Various levels of transparency would be great!
