Feb 19 2016 System Update Caused Home Menu to Automatically Refresh Occasionally.

I have been using my Xbox One happily since December 2014 and after yesterday's update I am getting kind of angered. While playing games or just being on the Dashboard, the Dashboard will refresh sometimes in a few minutes all the way up to several hours.
I have slow internet and I am trying to download games that are taking a long time to finish and when the Dashboard needs to refresh it's kind of aggravating, I would like the option to adjust the time in which it automatically refreshes or if it's not a feature
is this bug going to be addressed? No I am not factory resetting, my hardware's fine as everything functions properly otherwise, besides my two external hard drive's saying they are ready to be used on every Xbox startup, controller's up to date if that matters,
I have tried holding the power button until it turns off, I have tried leaving the console unplugged for an hour, I have tried along with the other two turning off my modem and leaving it unplugged for an hour, temporarily removed Xbox Live profile from console,
the last 4 I did at the same time. I have replaced my modem the day before the update came out, but I don't think it has any effect on the issue as it worked fine all the up till the update. Is this intentional or is anyone else encountering this odd issue?

say you changed your Home on the 2nd Feb 2016, 5th March 2016 and 9th Sept 2016, you only have to wait till the 2nd Feb 2017.

Its 1 year from the third previous change on the HOME.

System Update - Feb 19, 2013

Anyone else having problems downloading this update? I Have a very good internet connection, but the update takes forever to download and it gets to about 10% complete before it gives me an error code which isnt even listed on the support page? Anyone know
how to fix this?

 

hey dragon, I'm just curious because I'm out and I don't know if it's a similar problem, but it could be. Does your Xbox constantly access the Internet? and slow your bandwidth down at the same time? As I also have a 6 Mbps normal internet speed. But as
soon as I turn on the Xbox and it loads up to the dashboard, my internet lights keep blinking consistently nonstop and it slows my internet speed down 0.04 Mbps, yes that is a 0.0+ to the highest that may be 0.5Mbps. soon as I turn off my xbox or go offline
it goes back up to about 5.9 to 6.0. now that you are mentioning it I'm thinking that maybe it is the dashboard keeping refreshing constantly. I've never had this experience until just recently also and I've been playing for about 2 years on this Xbox, I never
had any issues until just recently with this problem. Are you experiencing the network consistently being used by the Xbox? And tying up your bandwidth.

I also noticed that when it boots up it also says external hard drive ready shortly after boots up. I always thought that was normal, as it supposed to do this every time? because that's what it does. is it not supposed to do that?

just an addition to my post, I have not did the recent February update yet. As I haven't turned it on in a couple days because of this issue so it's using the last dashboard update that we had last month

 

I have 1.12mb's a lot slower, but what happens is I am downloading something it will sometimes refresh it self automatically then if it takes too long to load all of it within a given time it refreshes again. The downloading is using anywhere from 1.12mb's-1.50mb's
so pretty much the entire speed, it's a very odd issue and haven't encountered it until after the Feb update. I might try removing the modem from my Xbox and re add it to see if that helps.

 

I must say after doing all the troubleshooting steps in my original post in this thread the refreshing has slowed down a lot, but it could still be present.

It seems to not occur nearly as often after removed my profile from the console temporarily, I held the power button down until it turns off, removed the power cable from the outlet for an hour, and finally I reset my modem and removed power from it during
the same hour as the Xbox being unplugged. After I plugged everything back in, turned it on, and re-downloaded my profile everything seems to work a lot smoother and the refreshing does occur, but like once every 5-8 hours. I could be wrong, but I wonder if
this was intentional so the suggested friends and everything reloads with new things often. I would like an Xbox Moderator or an Xbox Official Staff Member to comment and clarify if it is intentional or not, as I am curious.

 

i have the same issue like i was just sitting here on my computer and the dashboard refreshed like 40 times in a row...its super
[Mod Removed] annoying...i plan to call customer service soon about this irritating issue
