Favourite Jaw Drop Moments in Games

Never had a "jaw drop" moment. Not even really sure what that would be. Did see a woman once who kept having her jaw drop because of something to do with her jaw joint.

1) Yeah, that was a terrible moment. They did such a good job with the emotional things in Gears (IMO). I expected Dom to find her in some way. Maybe crazy or something. But not like that. And then Dom doing what he did in Gears 3.

Also, the Last of Us had a few. Near the end was a big one.

I have had other emotional moments in games as well.

Playing PGR2 online for the first time.

Seeing Mario in a 3D environment.

The staircase fight in Ninja Gaiden 2.

The ship graveyard and Cruise Liner levels in Uncharted 3, technically astounding to this day.

The slalom section in Journey.

El Shaddai, the second tower is just incredible.

The Last of Us, every bit of it.

Gun parrying bosses in Bloodborne.

Dark Souls 3, phase two of the final boss fight when Lord Gwyns theme music kicked in

As far as more "Infamous" moments go there is "Tekken 6" for having an intro so long my XBox 360 Screen Saver kicked in.

I used to be in a Trials league run by a guy called Flembo and it was great really competitive with about 8 different leagues relegation and promotion.

Anyway you got 2 tracks per week and you would hammer the tracks all week with times taken on a Sunday so one Sunday morning I thought i would try and shave some milliseconds of my times !!

With a hangover pounding I was racing away and after first attempt i didn't better previous time so I persevered and tried again only to get the exact same time as my first attempt this then happened again and I was starting to get annoyed at getting exact
same time so I was shouting to my wife and son to come and watch and my jaw was really hitting the floor when I kept getting exact same time and it was only after roughly my 15th attempt did I realise after all that time moaning and complaining I eventually
realised I'd been watching a replay the whole time of my 1st attempt!!

Hangovers and xbox don't go together

Walking into an arcade on Southend seafront & sitting in the Star Wars game cabinet thingie for the first time & actually doing the Death Star run.

It may have just been a bunch of lines but back then it blew me away.We are talking a long time ago........ pun intended

I was a bit like that when I played that tank arcade game where the tanks were all like wire frame green see through...cant remember the name of the game though.

Finding out Cid was a Sanctum l'Cie, and that the fal'Cie Eden is pretty and like one of the good fal'Cie of Cocoon (Xbox 360).

So I tried not to read the posts of others in hopes that I might come up with moments that weren't influenced by them... but you hadda ruin it with Dom finding Maria in your OP... LOL

That doesn't really matter anyway, I'd have thought of that one and put it at the top of the list as well.

Another real jaw dropper (but wouldn't call it emotional) for me was Halo 3, when the flood approach Chief and Arbiter on the final approach to stop the rings firing. I expected to have to fight my way through both to get to the control panel... but never
once did I expect them to approach and speak "Stop! Do not shoot, but listen..." That one really caught me off guard. I know, weird considering all the things that happened throughout the series, but that one sticks out to me.

I'm not sure I'd call it a "moment" but the Mass Effect series was full of some pretty emotional decisions that had to be made, so the moment I had to make them would fit I guess. The one that sticks out the most was deciding whether to rewrite the Geth,
or destroy them. I agonized over that one. lol
