Favorited friends issue

I understand that you are having issues with one friend about whom you are not being notified when being online. I cannot guarantee that the troubleshooting steps I provide below will somehow fix the issue. But you can use this thread as part of the troubleshooting steps you performed when reporting the issue to Xbox if it cannot be resolved.

Open the Xbox app and navigate to Settings (cog icon) > General settings > Notifications. Tick the Favorite online - Notify me when my favorite friends are online checkbox

• Check Notification Settings for the Xbox App
  
• Unmute Conversations
  
• Enable Background App Refresh for the Xbox App
  
• Remove Battery and Data Restrictions for the Xbox App
  
• Disable Focus or Do Not Disturb Mode
  
• Clear App Cache (Android)
  
• Update the App
  
• Turn on Notifications to fix Xbox Notifications not working
  
• 10. Disable Windows Focus Assist
  
• 11. Use Windowed Mode to fix Xbox Notifications not working
  
• 12. Check your Internet Connection
  
• 13. Check for Updates
  
• 14. Restart your Device
  

Please let me know if this issue is happening on the Xbox App for PC, Mobile and on the console.

Did you previously have that person marked as a favorite? I feel like that setting might be stuck.

Try this: Add him back as a friend (temporarily), and make sure he is not marked as a favorite. Then un-friend him again. See if that will fix the issue.

Having the same issue as well as not receiving notifications when favorite friends log in like in the old app.

Sorry to hear about the issue! Have your tried removing your friends from your Favorites and re-add them as a 'Favorite' again? Since they need to be a Favorite friend to receive notifications when they log-in, let's start there.

• Select the Friends Tile.
• Select the friends you want to be notified by and select 'Change friendship'.
  
• Turn off 'Favorite'.
• Hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds, or until the unit has fully powered down.
  
• Power back on and re-add them as a Favorite.

Try all of the steps above and have your buddies do the same! Be sure to post back and let us know how it goes!
