Favorite Shooter!!

My favorite shooter is Mass Effect 2. I chose it over three because sniping was better compared to the third.

 

I'll tack on Unreal Tournament 2004. The different game modes (Domination, CTF, Onslaught with Vehicles, Assault, and the classic DM/TDM) and maps were phenomenal, a big improvement from UT1, a great recovery from the bomb that was UT 2k3, and the height
of game quality before the decline of UT3, it really was the optimal title of one of the most fast-paced and complex shooters I've ever played. Multiplayer was rough though because it was so competitive. Trying to play CTF I had people ducking, dodging,
wall jumping around my rockets and translocating on top of me like it was their job. Every kill was work, lol, but great fun in SP.

 

On the 360 I used to like World at War! an IF it was fixed?? If all the hacking problems were solved I would have defiantly gone back an still be playing it now, Hard core was awesome on that game's multiplayer mode.

 

Speaking of Unreal Tournament, theres news of a new instalment floating around which would be absolutely amazing. I miss this saga though the best imo is the 1999 / 2000 edition. That sniper was lethal!

 

I won't be too excited about any new UT titles after 3. I couldn't get into that very well. The maps weren't as good, new vehicles were interesting but ultimately it was missing things like assault mode, the hoverboard was silly, and the campaign ditched
the whole "tournament" aspect, instead making GoW character clones (main character was Dom wearing Theron Guard outfit, main villain was Myrrah) with a mediocre and at times confusing storyline. I just didn't care for it as much as 2k4. It just felt like
they added in a few new vehicles but put in less overall effort to making the rest of the game on par with the previous titles quality-wise.

But yea, original and 2k4 were awesome. I bought the Unreal pack on Steam and only really keep those two installed.

 

I loved Unreal Championship 2003 enough to get 50,000 Instagibs a week, it was a brilliant game, the games since then have not been that great in my opinion.

Used to get hyper when I heard that in game after spawn killing dozens of victims in a row, ah, good times!

 

My favorite shooters would be Halo and Bioshock

 

It really is a fantastic series. That's a lot of skill to get that though mysers so you can stay out my lobbies when the new one arrives, I like to win you see lol.

Mal I hope with the new one that they just go back to the roots. That's important to me. You know what would make this a huge deal for me? If they included the original within the game. THAT would be epic!

 

It didn't take skill, just Instagib mode and a knowledge of spawn points and about 12 hours a day play time, unfair I know, but fun! Mwah ha ha!

That's a tough one. There are so many great shooters and so many of them are different. BioShock, Crysis 2, Bad Company 2 & Borderlands are all superb.

 

OH GOD can't forget Halo. ok ya my favourite is Halo 3 but every one in the series is just amazing.

 

myers, spawn killing is fun when you are the killer but many a times have I woke my neighbours up shouting when I am the victim lol.

Kratos, Halo is a good one! Aside the original, 4 is my fave.

What makes the fourth your favourite?

 

Hmm... Gonna have to say Team Fortress 2 on PC. Don't play it as much as I used to though.

 

Bob, the fourth is my favourite due to enemies, the new evil. I really like how they die. I know that sounds sadistic (lol) but the whole setting and the way they are, just impressed me. I liked the tone, the missions and I really hope they keep that up.
Of course the original beats the fourth, simply due to it being just that, the original. I cant scrub how impressed I was with that. You not a fan of the fourth mate?
