faulty xbox one controller

Argh! Faulty xbox controller again. Headset port not working. Controller syncs with console and says headset is connected, but no sound or mic. Thought it was headset failure so tried another, but controller not working with that either.

Bought from Amazon but, as it's outside the standard limited warranty of 90 days, the seller refuses to help. Microsoft website says I have to deal with seller. Spent 2.5hrs on phone to tech support today but still didn't get through.

How can I resolve this? From comments I've read online, controller port problems seem very comment so, if this has happened to you, how did you resolve it?

Faulty Xbox One Controller

Hi everyone!

I am scheduling a replacement controller for tomorrow, just wanted a hands up for anyone who has experienced a similar issue to mine, with an Xbox One controller:

- Playing a game, LB bumper stops working

- Go "home" to be Immediately put on the "pins" section of the home screen

- Try to click/stroke "right" button on DPAD and thumb stick, but the cursor keeps throwing me back to the left hand side of the screen

- Try to turn the controller off via holding down "home"; but my controller won't let me press "A" to select anything

My controller seems bricked. I cannot access anything. Xbox Support have diagnosed a controller fault, over a console fault, due to the fact that the console can be navigated via Xbox Media remote.

Again, has anyone experienced something like this?

The way to get in contact with our Xbox support agents would be to
schedule a call back. Also keep in mind that there are some self service options to

set up a repair. Check these steps out and let us know how it goes!

I've done that 3 times in the last 2 days! The first time, I was supposed to get a call back within 2 hours; second time, within 2 minutes; third time, within 17 minutes. Still waiting for someone to call!

The 'set up a repair' option seems to be for Xbox consoles? My problem is with the controller, which was purchased separately from the console. So frustrating!

You can select accessory and then do it for the controller.

Select the device you want to service. To view warranty details, device service status, or to service an accessory, select its associated device.

You will have to choose the appropriate device associated to the console. You can

use this guide to help you create the order.

Have you tried to connect a different Xbox one controller with your PC just to make sure is not a faulty controller?

The xbox could have a faulty receiver, but if you have used a normal xbox one controller and it worked probably try to get a new controller on warranty.

Make sure your Xbox One is connected to a Wall outlet and nothing else.

Make sure your Xbox One Controller is Fully Updated

And Hard Reset your System to remove corrupted content, Press and hold your power button on the console for 5 seconds and restart it

I have given up with customer support over this issue, the whole process has been well below standards I would expect for basic customer care.

Communication has been a joke as the main port of help has been a flawed algorithm of a virtual assistant, human contact I have come into contact with has been good efforts from non-microsoft official forum assistants and then a 'customer care' phone operative
who appeared to cut me off when I politely and courteously suggested that the support I was receiving resembled a sales pitch to buy an adapter and feeling like going round a 'never decreasing circle' WELL DONE MICROSOFT (*sarcastic*)

I have purchased third party controllers (wired) which are operating correctly, sadly with them been wired my sons appear to be gamers from the early 2000's but if that's what it takes then so be it- MICROSOFT is the future, right on (*sarcastic*) ?

Point of interest- Sony include a basic ear bud and mic to encourage online community play (personally I'm a dedicated PS user and felt my heart sink when my sons requested xbox for XMAS) Microsoft do not, is this due to a lack of confidence in the ability
to link a basic peripheral to the device? so third party headsets can be blamed for incompatibility issues rather than perhaps a poorly constructed 3.5mm input?
