    Faulty Xbox 360 Slim

    Hi again guys... ^_^

It seems whenever I fix one problem another one quickly arises... So the Internet problem I was having has been resolved, but now I'm actually getting an issue with the console itself.

So about two days ago my X360 Slim starting beeping randomly for a few minutes, playing the 'open/close' sound that it normally makes when you open the disc tray, before finalizing on the power on/off sound. Now this has happened before about two years ago,
so I paid little attention to it and just trusted that it would ultimately fix itself like it basically did last time. Now the beeping didn't affect the console at all; 'twas only annoying for the period that it was beeping. But then last night something weird
    happened.

As I was chilling in bed watching YouTube on my computer, I looked up to the same sound of the disc tray opening/closing, except this time the tray actually opened. Paranormal activity anyone? After figuring out how to react to the situation, I got up, closed
the tray and attempted to turn the console off. The power button registered my finger (because it made the power on/off noise), but it didn't turn off. So out of impatience I just unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in. Nothing else happened for the
    rest of that night.

Then this morning, I can't remember whether it started beeping just by itself or whether I went to briefly troubleshoot the problem, but I came across some pretty bad issues with the touch sensitivity and the beeping. The rate of the beeping had slightly
increased, and it was beeping when I touched the buttons but nothing was happening. After blowing on said buttons with a straw (after reading up last night that they can be incredibly sensitive and things like microscopic dust particles can even trigger the
buttons), they worked fine for about five seconds. After that they refused to work and the random beeping continued. So I pulled the plug and plugged it back in again, only this time I didn't even have to turn the console on to retry it - because it turned
itself on. I decided to run with it and keep analyzing the situation, when I noticed that the aspect ratio on my TV had changed. Now I don't know whether it was because I didn't unplug/plug it in properly or whether it was because it was acting up, but it
had reset the video, date and time settings, leaving me to have to re-calibrate everything. This has never happened before under any other circumstances - the date and time has reset however, but never the video settings.

I was able to readjust the video settings and after that I checked to make sure my content was still there. Profiles, games and apps were still intact but the console was still attempting to master Mozart. I should also note that one of the times I turned
it back on this morning after unplugging it, all four corners of the green light in the middle were lit as it started up, but as it continued starting up they counted down clockwise from the top-right corner until only the green dot was present, then it did
the normal flashing thing it did when it started up normally.

Now, when the console's Internet connection was being ***, I did take the console apart in an attempt to single out the cause of that problem, but apart from it sounding like I didn't put the disc tray back in properly (it just vibrates profusely on the
casing - that doesn't scratch the discs inside or anything - so I ended up putting a decently heavy paperweight (slightly heavier than your average controller) on top to silence it) nothing else seemed to be the issue up until now. As a result, this makes
me wonder the following: if the beeping, opening/closing ghost disc trays and unmanned on/off power control is a result of me taking apart the Xbox, would it not have been occurring sooner than it is now? I took it apart probably about 3-4 weeks ago, so if
that is why it's happening my instincts tell me it should of been happening 3-4 weeks ago rather than now, which otherwise makes me think it isn't because of that.

I'd appreciate some thoughts and help on this. I've had the beeping issue before but I believe that that was a simple connection issue between the controller and the Xbox, so this is something else entirely if the console is growing a mind of its own.

*I've unplugged the console completely for now, in case it starts up again. I'll have another look at it tomorrow.

    :)

Every multiplayer game I play lags in frequent intervals.

I have come to the conclusion that I may have a faulty wireless adapter on my Xbox 360 slim and will have to replace it.

All new Xbox 360 Slims come with a years warranty and it sounds like your Disk Drive is faulty so there wouldn't be much harm in trying would there?

The Xbox possession seems to have been exorcised for now - don't know how or why - but I'd still like to know why it does this and how to knowingly fix it without it fixing itself... Faulty Xbox 360 Slim o_O

    Random Disconnects from LIVE

For the record, looking around this forum and various other forums. It does seem that the only people having issues, are those with the Slim models of the 360.

My old white XBOX 360 never had these issues and it was only since getting the slim. Maybe there are a number of faulty units out there?
