    Faulty Series X


    Hi,

    I would love others opinions please.

    Our series x is 8.5 weeks old and hit a fault on Sunday, it wouldn't load any games and couldn't move from the update screen. We tried all sorts including a reset, chatted with Microsoft Support who talked us through an offline update, which also failed. This was their last step so they've said to send it in for repair and if they can't repair it they will offer us a refurbished one.

    I'm mortified our 8.5 week old Series X needs repairing anyway, let alone the fact it may be irreparable and we then get fobbed off with a refurbished model.

    If I had bought this from a shop, like argos, I'm pretty sure I could return it to their counter for a full refund or exchange, if they had stock.

    Has anyone any advice for me please?

    It was ordered on 8th Feb, received within a week and opened as a gift on the 16th Feb.

    He said the refurb was if they couldn't fix it, so I'd be waiting a week or two and then receiving my fixed Series X back or a refurb. Truly thought they'd send a new one upon receipt of our faulty one, or as mentioned in other posts offer the Advanced Exchange :(

    Thank you for your quick reply.

    We tried all this initially, Microsoft support went through this with us too. Their last attempt was the offline update, which also failed.

    I just don't want to be palmed off with a refurb, surely that should come when it's over 12 months old?! :(

    They send refurbished models because it's faster for you instead of waiting on them to fix your console.
