Faulty Microsoft Play and Charge Kits, Xbox One

Bought three of these at the start of March. None of them now work.

They're basically expensive ways to convert wireless controllers into wired controllers.

Even my wireless hoover lasted longer than that and it wasn't even a lithium battery.

Is this a rare issue or have I wasted £90 on something that has broken before even three months is up?

Thanks for your reply. I think I'm just frustrated as I'd assumed that they'd at least last a year of moderate use.

Amazon and just under three months, so not sure If get anywhere with that, but I'll take a look at the warranty info.

Hello, sorry to hear you are having issues with your Play and Charge Kit. As with all rechargeable batteries, their lifespan depends on how often you recharge them. If you recharge the battery frequently, it won't last as long as if you use the controller
only occasionally.

I personally have/had mixed experiences with the Play and Charge Kits. My first Play and Charge Kit for Xbox One lasted about 6 months before the battery would no longer hold a charge. While disappointing, the P&C Kit was still more cost effective
as compared to using non-rechargeable AA batteries, so I purchased another P&C Kit. That 2nd Kit is still working today, 5 years later.

Depending on your location and/or time of purchase, your accessories may still be covered under warranty.

The play and charge kits are a joke.

Mine is exactly like the OP says.

I even bought a new play and charge kit with new battery and new controller thinking my previous kit was faulty and that's just the same.

I now just use one of the fast chargers.

I had the official charging kit from Microsoft for my 360 and it hardly ever worked. I would plug it in after a heaving gaming session and it would light up green saying it was fully charged. So next I bought the Energizer charging station and it was awesome!
So I got the Xbox One version of the Energizer charging station is still awesome and it comes with TWO rechargable battery packs and backs for two controllers!
