    Faulty micro usb of the xbox one controller


    While my sample size is a bit small, and obviously being a late adopter...I'm curious if anyone else feels that the controllers' micro usb is substandard at best, cheap faulty at worst?

    Every controller I've come across has this very same issue; my first experience is when I had the audacity to play with the controller plugged in...the weight of the cord alone is seemingly enough to bend the mirco usb within the controller out of whack,
    a glaring design flaw yet brought to market anyways.

    Just wanted to ask around and see if I may be mistaken, thank you for your time.

    XBox One controller's charge port - what kind is it?

    I want to purchase a micro-USB cable in order to connect the controller to the PC or XBox One. But I found out there are many types of Micro-USB:

    Micro-A, Micro-B, etc.

    Can anyone tell me what kind of Micro-USB is the one in the controller's front port, so I don't purchase a useless cable?

    It could be any of those 3 things mentioned. The play-and-charge cable might be broken, the micro usb port could be faulty, or a bad update. I had similar issues and in my case(s) it was the cable itself and also a bad update that broke one controller(only
    worked when plugged in after update). I had received a replacement controller with a bad micro usb port as well, so test it on a spare controller.

    While it can be fiddly getting the play & charge cable to go in at times can't say I've ever had the issue you've described on any of my xbox one controllers.

    The two controllers I have both have this issue. It's definitely cheap at the USB port among other locations.

    Xbox one X, controller can start the console but wont respond afterwards.

    I've tried connecting it via micro usb but the problem remains the same.

    My other controller works just fine.

    I unfortunately cannot test the faulty controller on another console or PC right now.

    It fine tunes the controller, more precise, better trigger feedback...etc. I'm not sure if the Play/ charge kit works, I think you need to use a Micro USB cord. Plug the Micro USB into the controller to the Xbox One then click update controller.
