Faulty left stick on Xbox one controller

    Hi all,

So recently I noticed a weird issue with the left analogue stick on my xbox one controller. Sometimes, on a game like overwatch, (where movement speed coresponds to how far the left stick is moved) when pushing the left stick forward, my character will initially
either move really slowly or not at-all. This will either last for a couple of seconds, or persist until I move the stick in a circle motion, click the stick down, or just jiggle it about randomly.

This issue started of fairly minimal, but now its become worse, with it happening pretty much every time i move forward and it requires more effort to adjust. I was wondering if anyone has had or understands this issue and has any fixes for it, easy or not.
There's some wild remedies online for how to fix issues like this, but id rather not hammer or punch anything unless i absolutely know its gonna have results.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Additionally, the controller is a standard xbox one s controller and its definitely out of warranty. Also, for anyone thats interested, I think the reason the controller is doing this is because I have my jump action remapped on most games to a press of
the left analogue stick. So for competitive gamers out there, be warned, it looks like the left stick isnt designed to be pressed 100 times a minuet.

    Thanks again.

    :)

    Hi Dextrinix,

Anything to do with self repair is frowned on here on the forums unfortunately. As with that, and you acknowledged you will need to replace I will be locking this thread. Replacement here is the only option.

    Have a great day.

    Hi Dextrinix,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. If it is out of warranty, you will need to get it replaced. The thumbstick will continue to get worse over time unfortunately.

    Thanks,

    Brad

Thought so. I probably will have to resort to that, but im just seeing if there are any cheaper (albeit less covenient) fixes.

    Cheers anyway though.

    Xbox one controller left joystick

My Day 1 controller has left stick lag. My wife's controller has a faulty D-Pad.

These controllers were treated like gold.

If you were eating you weren't even allowed to look at them.

There have been, and continue to be, many threads about the XBox ONE controller going faulty.

If the Red Ring was letting the side down on the 360 then it's the controllers that are letting the side down for the ONE.
