    Hello

    First time poster here. I have a problem which as you can probably tell is a faulty htmi port on my xbox one. At first I though it was just the hdmi cable but I have now tried 3 new cables and still no picture or sound. I know its a long shot but does anyone
    know of anyway I can play xbox one without a functioning hdmi port? If not does anyone know how I could get it fixed and how much it would cost? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!! Really useful info! I solved this by switching the XB1X to the HDMI1 port which (apparently) was already set to HDR10. But I didn't know I myself could set this to the other 3 ports as well! Thanks again!

    Hey there Crunch! So we're having some video issues I see. Just to cover all the bases, have you tried connecting your console to another TV? Try HDMI and the standard cables again, just to be sure. If you experience the same issue on a different TV, a console
    repair will probably be your best bet. You can get that set up online (support.xbox.com/.../repair-process). Please let me know how this goes, thanks!

    Faulty HDMI1 Port

    The Xbox One can only connect through an HDMI port.

    Try to do a hard reset of the console (when it is on, hold the power button for 5-10 seconds until you hear a click, wait until the power brick goes amber, then unplug it for 30 seconds or so, and plug it back in and turn it on) and see if that fixes it.

    If that doesn't work, also check that other devices work on the HDMI port on your TV (the TV port might be busted).

    If all of that doesn't work, go here
    support.xbox.com/.../repair-process     and following the instructions to get a potential repair.

    Thanks for reply. My xbox 360 works fine with all the hdmi cables and the tv so pretty sure it a problem at xbox end. I will try that hard rest thing later. Only got the ting last week so hopefully covered under warranty

    Does your TV have multiple HDMI ports?

    It is possible that one of them is faulty, or the Xbox itself has a faulty HDMI port.

    Faulty HDMI ports are not as rare as you might think. I work in IT and see a lot of the ports becoming faulty on PC's and laptops. It might also be worth checking out your TV/monitor for faulty ports.

    My Xbox One X HDMI port works fine but it has caused a fault on two of my TV ports. They no longer push out 4K but work for 1080p.
