Faulty controller missing

Hi,

I really hope someone can help as I am at my wits end with this situation now and don't know what else I can do.

I bought an Xbox Design lab controller for my son. Within 2 months it was not working - would not power on most of the time, if you could get it to power on and connect it would constantly disconnect and turn off. I returned it July 2023 via their tracked UPS shipping. I received the tracking email that they had received this at the beginning of August and I should have the controller back (or a replacement) in 8-10 working days. I never received it, or any further updates. By the middle of September I contacted xbox support to find out what was going on and they were unable to track my controller on their end from after it was received. On October 3rd I received an email to say the service order had been cancelled and an xbox support employee called me to say I was getting a refund to my original payment method on 21st October. I still have not received the refund. I have contacted Xbox support again at least 6 times since this, and every single time I am told they are 'escalating it as urgent to the hardware team and I will hear from them in 2-3 working days'. No one contacts me, I have to call again to be told the exact same thing. I still do not have the refund and I am really losing my patience with the situation and don't know what else I can do.

I have contacted Paypal, which was my original payment method and they have closed the case saying it does not qualify for buyers protection with no further details.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Really sorry to hear of the issues you are having. Just out of interest, how have you been contacting them? Unfortunately, in this case, Xbox Support would be the only ones who can help you. I am seeing if I can find you a different way of contacting them.

It's hit or miss on finding a non faulty copy.

I've had 3 copies, and 2 of those were faulty.

Hi,

My guess is it's faulty then. Joy.cpl should show a controller if it's connected to the PC, regardless of whether it is a direct input or xinput controller.

I take it your USB ports are working okay?

Other than a faulty port or faulty controller, a damaged Windows install can occasionally break controller support.

My advice is to buy an official controller. If this works then this Power A controller must be faulty.

Been having an issue with right trigger activating without pressing the trigger down....I ended opening the controller and there was a screw missing from its fitting and was found stuck to the magnet on the board where the trigger makes contact, causing
the control to make a faulty reading hence activating the triggers command line....sorted
