FAULTY Brand New Elite Controler

So finally I get a BRAND NEW elite controller today,get home and try syncing to the console........nothing! It works if the cable is plugged in and I can map buttons and change settings yet can not connect wireless,the controller home button just keeps flashing
slowly. I have power cycled my console several times. I can even switch the console on by holding the home button on the controller but then it just flashes. To say I am unhappy is an understatement.I spend £130 on a controller only for it to not work as intended.
I cant take it back for replacement as it was the last one in stock, and I certainly am not sending a NEW controller back for repair.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what the problem could be I would be very grateful. If not then I am getting a refund and wont be buy another Xbox product again!

Just to confirm I have tried ALL troubleshooting steps,the controller firmware is up to date,new batteries,ALL other controllers work wireless.

Quality USED to be important to MS but since the release of the XB1 quality has gone down hill very fast. Its no wonder people are switching to Playstation.

Let's gather information in regards to Xbox One controllers losing signal

Very happy, just received a brand new boxed controller out of the blue. Ive still got the faulty controller they sent so might try a thumbstick mod to see if it fixes the problem

Hi are you trying to sync using the button to the left of the Blu ray slot or the Kinect camera when the sync button on the controller is pressed??

 

Using the sync button as I dont have kinect. Using the cable should auto sync it as far as I know. The controller shows its assinged to my profile in the device settings. Just noticed the console is not recognising it as an elite controller all the time,occasionally
it just says "controller". Looking more like a faulty controller. Will be contacting the supplier tomorrow to see if a replacement can be found,if not then a full refund will be coming my way.

 

If you have not already done so then it may be worth trying to fully power down the console by holding the power button on the front of the console and unplugging it from the wall for 10 minutes to see what happens afterwards.

 

Tried that too,I left it unplugged for over 30 minutes still wont sync wireless but works on the wire until I unplug it, then the controller goes back to a flashing home button. As i've said before,all other controllers sync fine with no issue. Its just
the elite controller.

No way am I sending back to MS for repair,if it was 2 months old then fair enough, but when it comes out of the box like it then its going back to the retailer for refund,it was the last one in stock so a replacement is out of the question unless I'm willing
to travel to a different town which is more cost to me.

 

I absolutely agree, if you can return it to the retailer for exchange/refund then by all means that is the way to go. Happy Gaming!

 

So managed to get a replacement after going to a different shop,get home a synced straight away no problems.

MS should be looking into their manufacturing process,obviously something wrong with their component quality. The reason I bought an elite is because I had already gone through 3 standard controllers in less than a year,2 with drifting sticks and 1 with
trigger problems.

Lets just hope I have better luck with this one!
