    brought new xbox one controller 3 days ago since then I hav been bak to the store 7 time now to get it replaced with a new one and everytime I come home and update the controller it has the same issue with every one and that is when conecting my triton headset
    via the usb connection on the the controller u get nothing but loud static even when u turn all volume off via controls on the pad but as soon as I plug my old model controller in bang works perfect talked to support they try n insist they test countless controllers
    b4 there released n its not a fault there end tbh I sounds like total Microsoft bs like normal just to make us buy a new headset to work with the new controllers wondering if any 1 else is having same issue coz be damm'd if I'm spendin another £150 on another
    triton headset when there's nothing wrong with my 12 month old headset

    !!!IMPORTANT!!! HI xbox forums, quite interesting - i tried two old (white) wired controllers with the xbox, and they work fine!? i guess the new model black controllers aren't 100% compatable with old xbox 360 models!!!

    Newer controllers don't recognize the mic on either of my headsets

    So I have two separate Xbox One S consoles, and 3 different controllers. One controller is an older black one (model 1697) and the other two are newer that came with their bundles (both model 1708).

    My headsets work 100% correctly on the older model controller. Both of my headsets work great with it on both xboxes

    My newer controllers work 90% correctly with both headsets on both xboxes, EVERYTHING functions other than the mic. I can even hear my voice feedback in the headset but no one else can hear me in chat, can't record voice messages, can't skype. My mics do
    not work at all on the newer controllers.

    All controllers are fully updated, headsets are earforce xo one, and turtle beach X41. I have tried every headset on every controller on each xbox. The problem is isolated to the 2 newer controllers.

    What on earth can I do to fix this?

    You seem to be having trouble getting a third-party accessory to work correctly on the Xbox One controller.

    I would consider
    contacting Tritton     to see if they can help you out.

    Anybody else going through controllers?

    My day One controller was problem free until a few months ago when I dropped it hard on one of the bumpers, my fault nothing to do with the controller. Replacement new controller was a sturdier build and was working perfectly. Had to replace console
    so got an Elite model with the Elite controller and I can confirm it is Elite.

    I have the exact same problem and I think my controller is just over 90 days old. I am very careful with my equipment and it's disappointing to see official microsoft hardware fail so quickly especially considering how expensive it is. The last time I had
    microsoft replace a controller, (yes this has happened before) they made me pay for shipping which was around $20 because I had to buy a box and packaging materials as well. And on top of that, they will not ship your new controller until they receive your
    faulty one. So you're looking at well over a month and possibly around 2 months to get a new controller. I recommend buying a new one. Hopefully microsoft will fix these faults in future models. Meanwhile, the best we can do is spread awareness of these faults.

    Saying "my 360 controller has never broken" isn't even relevant to the OP's post, as he's talking about Xbox One controllers.
    Are you sure because unless I've missed it, Microsoft don't release their own Xbox One wired controller. If it is a third party model then he's complaining to the wrong company. So it's fair to assume a wired controller on the Xbox forum would be an official
    Xbox 360 wired controller.

    He could be talking about a USB cable into a Xbox One controller but if the fault is with the controller's USB port then taping it together would only cause more damage.
