Fault with Headset in Party Chat

    Hey

I'm having a strange issue with my headset where people in party can hear a frequent chirp (like a smoke detector losing battery, not a loop from interference).

Headset is a Gen 2 Astro A40 with M80 MixAmp.

I've tried with wireless / wireless with bluetooth / wired controller,

Stereo jack to jack only without the mixer, with mixer cleaned ports,

had mixer replaced, new xbox controllers, headset replaced, and still the problems there (except when using stereo only).

I tried configuring the headset audio through settings and that didn't make a difference either.

Has anyone possibly come across this issue before or knows how to fix it?

    :)

    Party Chat not Working

Every since the console update on Saturday, I am unable to chat in a party. Everybody that I party with says they can hear each other but party chat doesn't work for me. If doesn't work with a headset or through the Kinect.

Our party did switch over to game chat and we were able to chat with each other, so I know it's not an issue with my headset.

Anybody else encounter anything like this?

    Hi there!

Are you plugging the headset into the console with a digital cable or into the TV with an AV cable?

Could you send us photos of the wiring setup and audio settings on the console?

We will be here to help troubleshoot!

    Hey Mister Getafix,

The headset itself plugs directly into the Xbox One wireless controller via the MixAmp M80 that comes supplied with the headset.

At the moment I'll supply list of troubleshooting steps I have done in addition to the original post.

    -through Skype on Xbox

    -recording voice message

-alternated between all settings within sound

    -reset upnp through router

    -disconnected kinect

-disabled all wireless devices surrounding (to rule out interference)

-tested in 2 different models of controller

-detached microphone from headset (Astro A40 Gen 2, microphone is detachable by design)

detaching the microphone suggested to me that the issue may have been due to the microphone but after plugging this in and testing using both my phone and PC, sound recorded perfectly.

I have also been working with Xbox Support on this issue, currently they're sending out a replacement controller.

I have connected the headset using the official xbox one stereo adapter and 3.5mm TRRS jack and this works no problem, appears to be the MixAmp which has been replaced a few times with persistent issue.

Personally I think it is an issue with the firmware updates on the controller, if there is anything else you can think of trying. (I have a while until the controller exchange is made, I plan to use this controller without an update to confirm).

  6. It sounds like you have covered most of the bases so far. Testing with a controller that you have not updated or a brand new controller would be the next step and it sounds like that is going to happen soon.

Post back and let us know the results of that test.

    Where's BF3's DLC?

Party chat and squad speak is the games fault.

Why only party chat can go through TV speakers?

    Not game audio, game chat.

In settings, Xbox has an option to make party chat output go through your headset, headset and TV, or TV.

but that's only for party chat. i've always wondered why xbox can't do the same for in-game chat too?

With in game chat, if your headset is plugged in; game chat automatically goes to the headset, with no option to have it output through TV.

really sucks when you can't wear headsets, you can't play socially outside of parties. (in party chat; i use my headset mic, but have their voice output through my TV. game chat has no option to do this, you must wear your headset to hear teammates)
