Fatal System Flaw!!

Beloved Xbox users:

Beware of a fatal flaw in the Xbox OS when you go offline. Be sure to correct the date as it resets when you unplug the console. Your games will not save properly and you will lose whatever new data is created. My story is below.

I recently moved into a new apartment where there is no internet, so I made the decision to go offline. There is just one problem, I didn't know that the clock and date reset when I unplugged the console and moved. Due to this I lost about a months worth
of gameplay on MGSV: The Phantom Pain. It turns out that when a game attempts to save data it cannot save when the date is in the far past (when I looked at my settings the console was set for October 6th, 2014). As such when I ejected the game to watch a
movie and play Fallout 4 I lost everything. I happened to come upon this issue when I noticed that saves were not appearing when I was playing Fallout. I looked it up online and discovered the date problem. Now I understand this may not be of use or come as
a surprise to many people, but please take it as a warning and spread this out if you can. It sucks to discover that hours of my life was wasted and now I have to go back and repeat things that I shouldn't be repeating. Hope this helps a person or two.

Jigsaw Download Failure

Me too - Collections won't download after deducting gold and neither will freebies! This is a fatal flaw, just like Jackpot throwing away accrued coins! Doesn't anyone at MS run these on PC's to test them?

 

Possible Problem?

Good. I'd hate to think there was a fatal flaw that would deny you an achievement. I'm still missing a few weapons parts and artifacts, and have spent many hours searching for them. They'd BETTER be there somewhere!

 

The only reason you lost all your saves when you went offline is because you are no longer syncing with the Xbox cloud where those saves are stored, once you get back online and connected to internet your Xbox will update its self with the march update and
you will be syncing with the cloud again thus having your saved data that was saved on cloud.

 

^^ That's incorrect.When someone plays offline then connects back to live it will pick the newest save from the console & sync that to the cloud.

Pretty much all electrical devices that have a clock/calender on them will set the time & date to something random when you unplug them from the mains.

It's not a flaw with the console,it's just how electrical items are & always have been.

 

@DaftBadger that's a good point with electrical items. Regardless of it, it still sucks to find out that your game saves weren't actually saving. Granted I made this post with just a little ounce of anger, I still found it necessary to spread that out. I'm
currently in contact with the support team hoping they could do something along the lines of writing a warning on the support page.
