Faster Internet?

I am currently with att and want to be able to acquire faster speed for my internet so what do you guys suggest? Should I switch internet provider and if so what do you recommended? I want to be able to do things like stream a smoother video
when I broadcast on twitch and stuff like that.

Do you really have a choice? 90% of Americans have only one internet provider in their area.Sure there are others listed in the phone book but chances are they dont cover your section of town.See if ATT offers a better package than your current one.

 

Cable is usually faster than DSL .but you might be on a low tier with att. See what speed packages they offer.

 

Go with Cable if it's in your area. I have Charter where I live and it's the best one around. We also have one that started in the area, but it's far more expensive.

Try to find a cable service if possible. Charter is pretty good even though they tend to be expensive.

 

Drop DSL. I did a long time ago!

Go with cable. I have had TWC with 60+ download and 6+ upload. Have for approx. 2 yrs and have never looked back. NEVER lag on anything. Trust me.. that is saying something when I got all this in my house......many of them running at the same time:

6 360's, 3 one's, 4 ps3's, 3 ps4's, 5 laptops, 2 desktops (league of legends, WOW), several ipads, several phones, netflix, hulu, etc.

Lately my kids and I have been playing exo zombies on the 3 one's in three different rooms. no problems. Go for cable!

 

If your going to play Call of Duty (just for example) you only need 3-15 Mbps (DSL), for good video stream and if you play games like Battlefield your going to want at least 30 Mbps (Cable).

 

Speed makes no difference with online gaming its the latency

 

Thanks everybody for all your help. I went with cable and so far my games are running real smooth. Games like happy wars and battlefield 4 that would lag on me real bad no longer do. So once again thanks for all the help.
