  1. Fast scroll

I logged onto my xbox as normal this morning but I noticed that it was scrolling really fast, missing about 2 or 3 spaces. I have tried restarting my xbox but that didn't work. I aldo tried to see if there are any updates but I found that really difficult
due to the fast scrolling. Does anyone have a solouton for this as it is annoying and won't let me play on games?

    :)

    Fast scroll selection

Is it possible that the controller is causing this? For example one of the sticks on a controller I have is damaged and continually moves me up or down depending on which direction I went last and for that reason I can't really use it, I am buying a new
controller this week. It's driving me nuts, I try to use the on screen keyboard for example and it is really hard to select a letter cause it moves so fast.

My boyfriend has this problem sometimes. Since you've said it only happens when making a selection and it doesn't happen on the keyboard, this isn't your controller. Simply performing a power cycle of the Xbox seemed to fix the issue. Steps on how to perform
a physical power cycle are here:

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in instant-on power mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Instant-on mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

    Hi Power,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. There currently is not a setting for fast scroll. Are you currently enrolled in the insider program? Try

    power cycle
your console, also update the controller.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    Fast Scroll? Stick Drift?

I just got my replacement Series 2 Elite controller. I turned in my last one under warranty, 3 months old, adult use, because left thumbstick UP wouldn't register about 30% of the time. Tonight I unpacked my replacement. New serial number (well, older in series, but new to me.) It looked good. I paired it. Went into the diagnostics/test app screen on my Xbox, and now this replacement controller clearly shows a left thumbstick drifting up. Tap up, half the time it shows the up command continuously registering. Other times I center it manually and I watch it crawl up slowly. It does not recenter like the right thumbstick.

So now I've a "new" controller with a "new" left thumbstick problem. I found the issue with 1 minute of testing. How is this justifiable, MS?

I just tried to file for another replacement and the workflow bombs out at the end, so I can't complete the ticket. I'm frustrated. Not another dollar from me until we address this properly. So many people out there with this problem and you're handing out broken replacements. C'mon.

Edit: with a different browser I was able to file for another replacement. I guess we can keep doing this until Dec 2021 until you get this right.

Disabling “Fast scrolling” on a controller

    Hello, and thanks for replying!

-I’m using an Xbox one S

-I’m using an Xbox Series S/X controller

-Yes I’m using this controller wirelessly

-I’ve tried resetting my console, re-syncing the controller, updating the controller and more.

-I do not have any external devices connected to my console other than the power supply

There’s a possible chance that this issue could be caused by stick drift, because when I go to the configuration and testing section of the Xbox accessories app in settings, it shows that the left control stick is being pressed even though I’m not actually pressing down on it, however I’m not entirely sure how that ties in with the whole menu browsing being fast since if I leave my controller idle it doesn’t move automatically like having stick drift would.

I’m considering opening up the controller to see if there is anything major or obvious that’s wrong with it because from the exterior there doesn’t appear to be. But if you don’t recommend me doing that then please let me know.

Thanks again for this as I haven’t had much luck elsewhere!
