Fast internet, laggy 360?

I just do not understand this, and if anyone knows a solution, I'd appreciate it.

Here is my speedtest results: Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Modem: Motorola SURFboard SB6121

Router: DIR 860L firmware 1.1 (don't want to upgrade firmware, as the newer firmware for some reason takes away features. As in, less options in the firewall and QoS settings, resulting in me getting moderate/strict NAT)

And I have the Xbox 360 S model.. Have had it almost since the beginning of it's release. Maybe just a month after.

Everything is connected with a cable directly to the router. At the most, I will have my PC and whatever console connected at one time.

Basically, my Xbox 360 still lags a crap ton. I used to have the absolute lowest connection(4mb/s download, 1 up) and even after upgrading, nothing has changed. It takes just as long to download things, and I still regularly lag in multiplayer games.

I have a 360, Xbox One, PS3, and even play games on PC. Xbox 360 is the only platform that has this problem. Right now, I have nearly everything in my router settings as it's default. So dynamic IPs, UPnP enabled, no port forwarding, DMZ, etc. I did disable
my firewall settings and enabled UDP/TCP endpoint independent. My NAT is always open on all platforms. I have tried using QoS, and not only did it NOT improve my 360's connection, it actually slowed down my overall connection for everything else, despite being
in the highest priority category.

So I'm lost for what I can do to improve my Xbox 360's connection. I'm thinking it may just be my Xbox getting old. Maybe I've just been using it for so long that certain parts of it may just be dying or something.

Before I elaborate, quick question: Are you being throttled by your ISP provider?

I ask this because I have a rather fast internet connection. However, because of my uncapped contract, my ISP provider is constantly throttling my data usage once it reaches excessive amounts. My suggestion to you is join gaming servers that match your connection speed. Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for laggy, horrid gameplay.

Personally, I haven't done enough research on satellite internet to talk about it. But it could be a solution to your slow internet speed problems.

i get 75mbps to 105 download and 22mbps upload is that fast?

 

I'd advise that your first port of call would be to contact your ISP; it's uncommon, but not unheard of, for some to throttle bandwidth when used by certain applications (P2P downloads, video, gaming).

Check with them and come back, we'll see if there's anything else we can do.

 

Do you have verizon? I have verizon and I'm pretty sure they start banging me when I play 360. Jokes on them when I switch providers.
