Far Cry New Dawn Game Disc Won't Load on Xbox One-X Console

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to hopefully get this game to work on your console. I can definitely see how this kind of problem could be frustrating. It might be that some new update not installing appropriately could be causing
this issue.

If you haven't yet, I recommend trying a soft factory reset of the console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

When you get the chance, follow the steps here on
How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One, select the option denoted
reset and keep my games & apps, and let us know how that helps with the issue.

That... is really weird.

Most disc issues can be resolved by following the troubleshooting steps on this Support page,
but it sounds like you've done a few of them already.

Check on your console and make sure you have no game data for FCND. Delete it if you do, then try again (that worked for me for a different game). If you have another Xbox One, or a friend/relative who does, try running the same disc in their console to
be sure you don't just have really, really bad luck.

If all else fails, try installing a digital copy of the game.

Im having the same problem with my xbox one it does a series of beeps before it stops and nothing happens mine doesnt even show norhing of the game at all and this is my second copy boyh new games

Definitely no FCND game data already on my XB1-X, so that's not it. And definitely not a hardware issue. Just this morning I loaded every other game disc I own, again, (some years old), and they all instantly load up. And then immediately after, I load the
brand new FCND disc, and get the same short beeps before the console simply stops trying to read it. And this happens exactly like the first two FCND discs I bought. I was also able to use a friend's XB1, and the game instantly loaded.

I'm convinced this is an issue with this title specifically on the XB1-X. In fact, I've seen this kind of issue before (where a specific type of game disc won't load on the XB1-X, but will play fine on the XB1 or XB1-S. And when that happens, it turns into
a situation where the developer says it's the responsibility of Microsoft and MS says the exact opposite.

The 1st two (pre-owned) copies I was able to return to Walmart, but because this last disc was bought brand new, I may not be able to return it (some retailers won't accept returns on opened video games).

I'm sure a digital copy would work, but that presents certain financial issues. So soon after X-Mas, I'm on a strict budget; which is why I went w/ preowned the 1sr two times ($25). Just days ago the XB store had the digital version on sale for $14.99, but
because I thought the problem was likely w/ the preowned discs from a 3rd party Walmart seller, I bought a brand new game disc I saw on sale at Target for $15. And now that it has failed exactly like the other two, of course, the digital copy has gone up to
$39. Somehow the universe doesn't want me to play this game--no matter how much I want to. At this point, just financially, I'm forced to give up. (Especially if the retailer won't accept a refund for this last purchase.)

And can I say really hate this new forum format. It's impossible to see if other XB1-X owners encountered this issue back when the game was released. I'm told it's meant to streamline things, but it also seems as if it's meant to obscure.

I wish I had seen this reply before getting into rush hour traffic to try and return this last disc. The reset you recommend sounds different than the hard reboot I was trying. Although I'm not sure your theoretical diagnosis is correct; unless you mean
the XB1-X OS "update." An update associated with the game shouldn't be an issue, at least, until after the console spins up the disc and begins to install the game. With all three game discs for this title, I could hear the console trying to read the disc,
before it just stopped and nothing would happen. No load screen and no installation initialization. It's possible your recommendation could have worked, but after my XB1-X failed to read 3 separate FCND discs (and no others), all in pristine condition, I felt
foolish continuing to even try.

In any event, it's a moot point now anyway, since I was just able to return the last, brand new, disc for a refund. However, it could take 7 days for that sum to be credited back to the Visa card I used. I stopped on the way home and bought a $25 Xbox gift
card, in anticipation of buying the digital version of this game; which, since the price of the digital version just went up, I can't actually do until the refund for the last disc is credited back to my Visa.

If someone at MS-XB really wants to help, you could always give me enough of a discount so I could purchase the digital copy with the Xbox $25 gift card I just bought. Of course, I know you guys may not have the authority to do that, but given all the time
and money I've already wasted on this problem (plus it was more than half off in the Xbox store just a few days ago), I think a modest discount would be entirely fair.
