Far Cry 5 Will not Launch on my Xbox One

Hi there Xbox Support,

So for the past week or so my Far Cry 5 game won't load up at all on my Xbox, Everytime I attempt to load up the game the cover art shows for a couple seconds or so before then cutting to a black screen and sending me straight to the Xbox Home. Initially
I contacted Ubisoft Support about the issue, so they asked me to follow the info on this link:

I have followed all the steps and none appear to work. It is also worthy as notable that my game disc works on another console, so there is no problem with the disc. Eventually We came to the conclusion that there was a problem with my Xbox (I don't know
if this is true or not) and so they asked me to directly contact Xbox Support about my concern.

Please Let me know if there is anything I can do to fix the issue or improve the situation.

Trouble launching Far Cry 5

Hello, I have an issue going on: after installing Far Cry 5, the game won't launch on my Xbox One because it freezes during launching and it consequently turned off my Xbox One.

Then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Far Cry 5 once, but I still have that issue. =(

Can somebody please explain how to resolve this issue? Thank you.

Is it just me or does anyone else also experience this issue?

I'm sorry for not being specific about which "One" console: My Xbox One is an original console I got for Xmas in 2013 (almost 5 years ago) before the introductions of "Xbox One S" and an "Xbox One X".

Heaven forbid this stupid issue will keep me from start playing Far Cry 5 forever.

this is what this page, says that the season pass gets access to Far Cry 3 on may 29, I also was thinking when I got the season pass that we should see it sooner, but I guess will just have to wait for them to release it to us, so far the season pass only downloaded
one item on my account too, I got my Far Cry 5 season pass from my local GameStop store. I hope this info, helps.

 

Have you tried uninstalling the game & then reinstalling the game? That usually fixes issues like this.

 

Sorry to hear it. If the disc works in the other console but you have issues on your main one I'd like you to try something.

This method is not recommended as it does have a chance of scratching the disc. What I want you to do is hold the disc for around a second or so when the console grabs it. If there's an issue with your disc drive then this will force it to read.

If that works then there is an issue with the drive and it may be in need or a repair. You can set this up either by calling phone support at 1-800-469-9269 (North America) or at

If you have on disc try this before getting to official support:

You saying that you have on disc, got similar problem on Forza and worked, so try follow this steps:

1) Uninstall the game

2) Install only the disc content before updating the game (This means that when you insert the disc, you will have 2 options, "install and update" or "update later", here you should do "update later" and only the content of disc will be installed)

3) When the installation is finished, eject the disc, then update the game without the disc on the xbox. (The update will appear on updates section and you can update him without a disc inside)

4) Let update the game before playing and see if fixed and let us know.

As said above I had that error on forza motorsport 7 (disc game), and did this steps and now works without problems. Maybe some update failed or downloaded corrupted data and crashes on startup.

Cheers for all the feedback, glad you all open to suggest things, and I will get around to trying them out. Just wanted to add that I've heard about an update for this game and it doesn't come up in "my games" on Xbox. Could this be related?

Hi. Please press and hold the power button on your console for 10 seconds to do a hard reset. Turn the console on and try again.

If that didn't work please navigate to the game under my games and apps and press the menu button and scroll down to saved data and select to delete all locally saved data. Your saved data will sync from the cloud once you open the game again

 

How do I save the data onto the cloud? Is it done automatically? Sorry if I'm coming off as doubtful or too worried, it's just I have a lot of progress I'd rather keep. Thanks for the response though mate!

 

Ok, enough pissing about. I've decided that the best decision is to uninstall the game and then reinstall it, as @SLB4EVERPT suggested. Fingers crossed this works. Thanks a lot guys for all the suggestions, I didn't expect you all to be so helpful!

 

ok so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, it's finished now and I'm happy to say it works! Big thanks to everyone who helped!

 

Glad to help. Like I said, had the same problem, I installed my forza 7 on cd and made the mistake to update at same time, when i eject the disc he just stops the update, and maybe, in my case, was corrupting the update data. Was when i decided to install
first the disc content and then without the disc i can update.
