Far Cry 4 Issues - Max Bandwith

I recently bought Far Cry 4 Gold Edition off of the Xbox Live Marketplace the day before it was somehow removed and all the issues started. I contacted Xbox support and they recommended uninstalling and reinstalling the 30GB game. I did this a handful of
times, and the next day upon opening my browser I was greeted by a message from my ISP stating that I had reached over 80% of my max bandwith usage for the month, only a week after the billing period began. I reached the cap yesterday, and now will be charged
$10 for every additional 50 GB I use. The billing period is only half over, so this next bill is likely going to have a minimum of an extra $20-30 tacked on. I contacted my ISP to see if they could work with me since it was the first time I have even come
close to reaching the 350GB cap.The only option they gave me was to upgrade my speed to the next level. Uhhh no, the whole point of calling them was to save money not spend more. They told me to comtact Xbox to see if I could be reimbursed for any overages.
It's a little ridiculous I spent $90 on a game that didn't work, and now I'm also being punished on my internet bill because of it. I had planned on picking up Dying Light from the Marketplace when it released but that wont be happening because A) I need to
save to pay the overages on my bill and B) Downloading another large game will raise me even further past the cap, resulting in more charges. They say the downfall of physical media is near and the future is digital. That will not happen until ISPs stop limiting
the service their customers pay for. I am the only one using this internet connection, I imagine larger families and such that share a service would have an even more difficult time making the digital transition.

New to Xbox, Looking for friends

hey mills i have both and love dc online, uncharted , resistance and killzone on ps3 . faves on xbox halo 4 ,mass effect, cod , far cry, max payne, and tons more too.

 

That is unfortunate but Microsoft isn't likely to reimburse for bandwidth use. Unfortunately monitoring bandwidth use is down to ourselves. Some routers (especially Netgear) offer the option to generate alerts for using bandwidth so you and even limit use
per day etc.

I frequently go over the cap of my connection, last month I used ~870GB - that is from two Xbox One's, multiple PC's, multiple mobile devices but the majority is digital game downloads to my Xbox consoles, Netflix and Amazon Instant Video, but Xfinity isn't
enforcing the cap right now which is lucky for me.

You are right though, digital can only be the future if ISP's don't have download caps which doesn't feel like is going to happen any time soon.

 

The problem with that is I live in a small town in Iowa. Our options for ISPs are limited. Mediacom Cable basically has a monopoly on that in this area. When you have never had issues with reaching your bandwith cap it's not something you think about. You
just want the *** game you spent a lot of money on to work. It's bad enough to buy a faulty product but then to essentially pay extra for said faulty product is adding insult to injury. I honestly don't expect Microsoft to do anything for me, but I wanted
them to know that their issues, or Ubisoft's, or whoever's issues they are effect people in more ways than just not being able to play the game.
