"Far Cry 4" First Impressions

I never really liked the Far Cry games either, but they turned it around for me with FC3. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did and now I'm looking forward to FC4.

As of today 14th May 2015 4:00pm UK time it no longer says unavailable in store re installing it to see if it works.

Doesn't work for me either, bought the gold edition also.

 

When a global release date is put on a Tuesday to fit in with when Americans get there games it forces UK online retailers to have to post out their games earlier to ensure that the game arrives for the release date because there is no mail on Sunday.

Now a little further in this game does have the same skeletal structure as "Farcry 3" so you will be climbing towers and liberating outposts but it's still all very top drawer stuff so far.

 

I really liked the first one, but didn't care for 2 and 3. So 4 will be a wait and see.

 

Far Cry 3 was my personal GOTY of 2012. Easily the best game that came out that year. I can tell this game would hold that spot again if not for Dragon Age hogging all the glory. Either way, I can't wait until I finally get to play it.

I really enjoyed Far Cry 3. Great improvements went into the second one and the third was awesome so I'm sure the fourth will be one of my favorite games.

 

Can you actually put away (holster) your gun or do you have it out all the time while on foot? As much as I liked Far Cry 3 it would have been nice to holster your weapon.

My son wants to know, are there snakes in the game? he doesn't like snakes but likes far cry lol

 

Your weapon holsters automatically when you enter a friendly village... and when you can upgrade a crafting item (which was awkward because I had to shoot some things when that happened).

Otherwise you're walking about gun toting... even though NPC's whill cheerfully sling their rifles over their backs to chat with you.

There are snakes in the game and they are not very nice but you can make them die.

Also if you remember "Morrowind: Game Of The Year Edition"... Cliff Racers are back. As Eagles. When you play you'll understand what I mean.

So far there are Tigers, Rhinos and Elephants and much more... but the most dangerous animal in the game so far is the Honey Badger.

Seriously, if you're getting charged by a Rhino, shoot it to death, but if you're confronted by the Honey Badger... you're probably best off running for your life.

 

i take all your reviews with a handful of salt since boring games like alien isolation and shadow of mordor have also been "must play" games in your opinion. Plus i mean your doing a review on a game you probably havent even put more then 10 hours into...seems
your more rushed to "review" a game not out yet just to show you already have it and playing it...kind of lame...probably should wait until you experience the game a bit more before reviewing it.

 

The title is 'First Impressions' meaning it's just that and not a review. And as you say, it's just his opinion, whether you choose to listen to it or not is up to you. I personally liked Alien but not so much with Shadow of Mordor, but it's all down to
personal tastes.

 

in that case saying its a "must buy" based on mere first impressions is purely ignorant.
