    Hopefully I am not alone on this...

    I'll put it short: I HATE the main quest/story of this game...

    Why? It seems to take itself way too seriously. It has all of this overarching grit, feelings of despair, betrayal and maturity. It tries hard to give those gut punches of choice, the darkness inside, what a person is willing to do...you get my point. And
    yes, I beat the story...Mainly so I could just say "Yep! That lemon juice filled wound is closed!"

    It presents ALL of this...along side of what amounts to being a first-person shooter Just Cause freeroam.

    And I LOVE this game's free-roam...It's really the only reason I play it. It's why I bought it.

    But what the heck?! I felt like, when I was playing the main story, that I wasn't even playing the same game. I'd be hunting, doing side-quests and bounty hunts etc...Liberating outposts and NONE of the story's tone was present. Start a story mission and
    BOOM "HERE IS THE GRIT AND GRIME OF CHOICE AND LIFE AND SURVIVAL!!!".

    Then back to having a blast. My point is just me stating that I feel like there is sooo much of a disconnect and feeling of mood whiplash between the intended story you are in the driver seat of and the over-the-top insane fun of the freeroaming and side
    stuff (ooh not to mention the exploration)...

    When I play the free-roam I never feel like I am in the same world as the story. I don't feel like the same protagonist.

    Does anyone get what I'm talking about? Any thoughts?

    Little annoyances in your favorite games

    the ridiculously downgraded map editor in far cry 3 comes to mind, if they had the far cry 2 map editor with the far cry 3 gameplay I think the online would be top 10 XBL games.

    Full Campaign Co-op?

    I have been looking for some co-op games and I didn't realize Far Cry 4 was co-op. Is the entire story campaign co-op? Drop in, Drop out? Or is it just like Far Cry 3 with a handful of co-op missions?

    Nice. Far Cry 4 is on my list (as is Witcher 3).

    I'm hoping Far Cry 3 is one of the games that will be added to the list of those gaining backward compatibility on the Xbox One. Because that story takes place in a tropical island setting, it came immediately to mind as the setting you were looking for;
    problem being it's just not currently available on the One. I was thinking that Far Cry 4, while not tropical, would also be an amazing environment and a lot of fun.

    have high hopes for Far Cry 3. The story is pretty interesting, and as Jak said, the main antagonist is interesting. All signs are pointing towards it being pretty good. I'll definitely check it out.

    Trade GTA 5 in for Far Cry 4?

    Far Cry 4 is way better than Far Cry 3 in my opinion. I love it. I can't get enough. I've played for 2 weeks and I have only done 4 story missions. There is too much to see and do. There are so many epic moments. Easily my game of the year.
