When are we.going to start experiencing cloud gaming?

Forza 5 has the most advanced AI of any racing game yet with AI powered by the cloud, which drive like (read: identically to) your friends (and random players).

Titanfall calculates its AI on the cloud. The grunts are nothing special but the Spectres put up a fight.

So far only these two titles use cloud processing and servers (apart from Dead Rising 3, it uses servers but no calculations).

Im not sure alot of people know this but the cloud is a server. Servers can be done on any system.

 

I just tried to play a round and it still lags, when they gonna fix that?

 

I get that there might not be many players in CTF, but have they also removed CTF from the variety pack, I mean there wasn't alot of variety to start with, theres even less if they have removed it, I always played variety pack but my highlight was always
playing ctf.

I have sort of lost my faith a little in respawn, and TF1, they said more game modes are coming but still no news, private matches are a joke.

@ enon.. you can still play CTF... it is there... just removed from some rotations. and I agree CTF was the best mode... but got tiresome after a few rounds as the same people captured the flags everytime... I woulnt call it a lack of gaming development

ever play Rush on a BF game with a team full of snipers?? yeah... 2 hour games right there.... one guy going 9-50 with multipe Mcom ribbons and the rest of team goes 110-4 and they lose

 

CTF removal only affected PC. New modes are coming. Have you played since update 3? Huge update over 600mb with a bunch of new options in custom matches.

 

I wouldn't call it lack of players, I would call it rubbish match making, play one game, and if the majority of either team stays, you can 80-90% of the time predict who is going to win.

In ctf I will happily fill the position thats missing, but one person can't do everything.

I have played since the update but not much, its to predicable, and to me private matches are for having fun, but they have made it so you have to play the game.

I would love to make up a game of mike miers but there just isn't the options.

Used to like rush in BF BC2, but not a massive BF fan.

It's always great to hear from the developers who seem to know what they're talking about, who know about the issues the community brings to them, and who actively strive to make the experience better on our end.

That being said, I'm sorry to see so few people have been playing CTF. I'm not once to play the game mode in other games, but I've played it quite a bit in Titanfall because it's one of the most balanced versions of the game mode that I've seen in a game.

I love some of the changes they're making, such as the last resort team-balancing and the "connecting" sign that lets you know that other players are actually on their way to join your game.

The article even answered a question I've had for some time now: do private matches still use dedicated servers or is it peer-to-peer? The answer to that question is yes, private matches still use dedicated servers. This answer made me a very happy gamer.

My connection to xbox live is 35 up and 5 down and 53 ms to west server on titan fall, so i'm pretty sure its not my connection or that i suck.

I'm not the only person who lags on this game.

Even people who play on PC lag

well then.... do not know what to tell you Karma.... I have yet to experience any lag on Titanfall... and from I can see and read.. neither has the majority of the players... and posting 2 different comments from the same person about the same instance of
lag 2 days in a row far from shows me there is a problem... seriously... if the lag is as bad as you say it is... it has to be on your end...

 

I get lag from time to time while playing Titanfall; it usually comes from connecting with friends who aren't in the same region though - for example, playing on a west coast server when I'm on the east coast. Otherwise though, it's usually pretty smooth.

 

@Karma - doesn't matter that the download is 35 Mb speed.... ping is most important and yours at 53ms is on the slower side (I tend to get 20-30ms).

But as GG says sometimes it's about the party - that can make it even worse if the two players are in different regions.

Either way - very few people complaining about lag on TF hence wouldn't say it's a common issue.

 

Cheers for the post, it was a good read. I couldn't get into CTF and it was mainly due to being able to carry the flag in a Titan; Get your Stryder, go near the flag, get out the Stryder, take the flag and get back in your Stryder.
Next time I'm on Titanfall I will give CTF a try because I'm a big CTF fan.

I have yet to experience major lag on West/North European servers.

 

I play on the western eu servers , with 43 ms ping ,.

Mostly its smooth , BUT , as the article says ... if you cant get a decent game , they plonk you ...in a less than ideal lobby .

Unless every live player port forwards their dmz , pays for decent internet and games use awesome m/p coding ...you will get crappy games now and again .

I dont understand why , with 30,000 servers ... the whole world is divided into 4 sections .

Why cant each country have its own server / servers ?.

Maybe my ping would ....pong down to < 43

I just watched a killcam of a dude I didnt even hit apparently , who killed me , then bounced off a doorway 5 times trying to leave the room .lolz .

OH ......Slow hand clap to the dude that Never has lag .... Whistle ....Clap. ....Cough.
