Fanboy

I love my Xbox One, I do. Please forgive me if this post is too long.. I do happen to own most consoles since the Atari 2600 which was my first. I've also loved my Intellivison, Atari 5200, Colecovision, definitely the Turbo Grafx 16 for so many hours of
great gameplay and awesome hardware.

The list of consoles I will leave out is just too long. Commodore vic20, Aquarius and Atari 400 and lynx just to name a few. There are too many.

I seem to have a thing with failed consoles which is not something to brag about to be sure but there it is.

I do not consider the NES to be a true classic console and so many will disagree but so be it. The SNES was great and I loved it, however, it did not in my opinion come anywhere near the level of the PS1, Saturn or Dreamcast. The Dreamcast was a true gem
that will hold a place in my gaming heart forever.

After that, the PS2 was also amazing as was the original Xbox. I cannot even recall the amount of time spent on this console and loving every minute of it.

I'm conflicted on the Xbox 360 and PS3. I've loved them both for different reasons. Regardless, I do not knock the PS3 for being the less popular of the two and wished for it's success despite Sonys missteps.

Like many others, I felt that the Xbox One launch failed and waited, and waited still more. Well, after picking up the Forza bundle and using BC along with setting up the console to control my media center, I have to say that I love the Xbox One. It's the
best so far for me. Maybe not others and that's ok. It's a great console and I stream everything through it and it works every day.

this is the problem with the internet, the X1 is a failure because the internet says so, and most of the people jumping on the hate train haven't even touched an X1 or given it a chance.

i have a new room mate that is a bit of a PS fanboy, i keep my gaming talk with him to PS games or multi-platform games because he likes to bring up res-gate, well a few weeks ago he sends me a text asking if he can play my X1 while he was downstairs waiting
on food to be delivered, i said that was cool, i get home a few hours later to him giving me the "oh no, oh no, oh no...." look, standing in front of a half eaten pizza and playing Fantasia:Music Evolved with the Kinect, at that point, i just walked in, took
off my shoes, stood next to him and shook his hand, which added me to the game, and we played for a while. he hasn't said anything negative since.

yeah the X1 is beings outsold 2 to 1, but i think as time goes on it will catch up just like the PS3 did(as long as MS continues to bring us an amazing gaming experience.)

 

It would seem that most of the xbox hate is posted on the xbox forums.

I still can't figure that one out.

 

So... How exactly was the PS3 less popular than the 360 when the PS3 has sold more units? And why would you expect the SNES to compare with consoles that were released 4-8 years later?

It's a generational thing isn't it? The SNES was superior to the Sega Genesis and was a wonder for it's day. However, when compared to the TurboGrafx-16 which was of the same time period, it falls well short in my opinion. The TurboGrafx-16 and the Turbo
Grafx Express were leaps and bounds greater then the anything Nintendo produced. Again, my opinion only.

 

Now that might be a fair statement, but you were originally comparing the SNES to the PS1, Dreamcast, and Saturn.

 

You are correct. It's not a fair comparison based on the technology.

 

I preferred the Megadrive to the SNES.

 

I owed but never really liked Nintindos until the N64. (Cruze'n world/USA)

Generation 1 Sega Genesis/32X/Mega CD Drive (Tower of Power) Wich STILL adorns my entertainment center, is the only console that I held on to from the Atari era till then.

But wish I had also held on to the N64 as well.

 

Love my XBOX One and have never even thought about buying a different console.
