Fan speeds up, xbox one over heating a few times since i got it?

so I've had my xbox for around 2 weeks now, and on a couple (maybe 3 or 4 so far) the fan has gone into overdrive, I'm guessing its overheating, but what im more worried about is if this seems to be a reoccurring issue, is my xbox faulty? I've noticed it
happen when I'm just starting a game sometimes, I thought it was the disc drive at 1st, but it happened when i started KI classic earlier

this is where my xbox is sitting, so theres more than enough air flow

because game can be funny about returns and exchanges on hardware.

Constant Game Freezing

its a huge game theres alot of stuff ..i gotta watch wat i say here .. but anyway thats y its freezing up also a cooling fan =$20@ walmart might help if it is ur xbox over heating

Xbox one fan noise from console

I thought I read before release that the fan may speed up if needed due to heat? Mine has been silent. Of course I'm in an area with full airflow and it has been cold since X1 came out and no matter how long I play I have had no issues with heat. I wouldn't even know mine was on or off if not for the light on there. I've left mine on a few times not remembering to turn it off after watching TV.

I've noticed some games when loading up seem louder than others, whether it's the actual drive or fans or a combination of both I couldn't say, I've never really took much note to be honest but it always seems to go quiet after a few minutes.

I've never noticed the fans getting louder when playing a digital game, not saying it hasn't happened but maybe because of the volume I have the TV on I just don't notice it.

Not sure what to say, it could be quite normal, maybe just give Xbox Support a call and see what they suggest before packing it up and getting a replacement.

The fans are there to stop it overheating. If the fan kicks in for a few seconds (10-30?) and then settles down all is good. If it keeps going for ages then it's having a hard time.

You might just have a loud fan or loud hard drive.

My xbox one is almost silent, but even in standby mode you can hear the Hard drive if nothing else is making a noise.

The Microsoft guys are right, it is normal. Most of the time the normal speed of the fan will be enough to keep the system cool, but occasionally it will need to spin up faster in order to deal with a heat spike.

Many computer power supplies follow a similar system. Most of the time the fan doesn't even spin but once the temperature reaches a certain point, the fan spins up to keep the temps where they should be.

Got to give Microsoft credit where it is due, they've learnt a lot about cooling a system since the early Xbox 360 days.

now the xbox360 over heated the ps3 never. Now the ps4 is smaller then all them and the fan is at the back, so i think the ps4 might over heat in time if the person using it is not careful

have they ever really sorted out texas heat yet? the first few saturday night games had plenty of human opponents with over 5000 people playing. then it got progressively worse with less and less human opponents but there was still over 5000 people playing.
then i gave up when there was only around 1000 people playing and not a single human opponent in any of the tournaments.my advice would be if youre a MASSIVE poker fan and want to play it on your xbox then get it, if youre not a fan then its just a pile of
useless sh*te now. if they have sorted it out by using human opponents in texas heat ill be playing again!
